Jul 2015
there is a ghost of your smile
that haunts me
there is a ghost of your embrace
that keeps me warm

the love I’ve never felt for you
holds me down
and the stars remind me
of the brightness of your eyes

there is a ghost of a dance
that I’m not sure I had with you
there is a ghost of your words
that fills my head

the things I feel
and the ones you do
are blurry and confusing
and I can’t identify
what is mine and what is yours

maybe I can’t forget
all I almost had with you
and I’ll almost have

maybe I did love you
even if just a little
and for just a little while

maybe I do love you
even if just a little
if I didn’t why would I
lose so much time
thinking about what can be
between you and me
