i never cursed a name
or wanted to see graves
but my ears are bleeding
and i thought we were fine
you kept saying we were fine
i'm dusting off our old plans
making maps of the mistakes
connected the lie to the lost words
the ones you didn't mean to speak
an astronomical rate of error
detected in these long forgotten
conversations we were always
trying not to have
but i thought, only hoped
your cold wouldn't find its way
back to her
