Tell them
Tell them you love them,
tuck them safely up at night.
Tell them to have sweet dreams,
until the morning light.
Tell them stories of times gone by,
let them know they were the apple of their mother's eye.
Show them how to love,
like you showed me,
be the dad you always promised to be.
Tell them about the birds and bees
I really shouldn't laugh,
but I always imagined that one, would be down to me.
Don't be scared when along comes their first crush,
just think of me and you,
our folks made such a fuss.
When the time comes and they ask about me
tell them our story,
how our love came to be.
They will be so proud of you ,
I know this,
because I was always proud of you too.
Tell them you love them,
tuck them up safely at night,
Tell them about the stars,
when they shine real bright.
Tell them stories about you and me,
Tell them in their hearts I will always be.
