Give me your feelings
I’ll have them back to you soon
In an altered state
Not what you walked in with
So you must be ready
It may prove something to you
Maybe how little you actually control
Because what I choose to say
Are the things I know that make you care
But not for me
Or for you
Or even us
It will be about someone else
Or something else
Something desperate
Something so overwhelming that you won’t believe
Because nobody can believe what is overwhelming
But it is true
That kind of fear is true
That kind of courage is true
But what good is it to think about these things?
What good is it to listen to a song?
There is nothing left when it’s over
You are the same
Whatever your situation
But deep down inside something changed
You sense it
You know it
But you cannot prove it to anyone
Except to the one who did it to you
Because they wanted to pass it on to you
And they sensed it inside themselves
And to prove it to you
They had to do it to you
And now they know
And now you know
