For long, my house has been lying deserted
My gate has not been opened wide to let in anyone
No guest has so far come to visit me
Tired of distant wanderings
I have come here to listen to the beat of silence
Occasionally broken by the sound
Of birds' laughing wings overhead
Here I have brooding shadows for company
Hermit like I wrap myself in my solitude

Now abruptly when you announce your arrival
I feel excited and equally perplexed
What shall I serve you? I am at a loss
My hearth has not been lighted for long
And my kitchen pots remain empty
I know I should serve you
Something chilled or warm
In my menu, I have a simple surprise
But not of the edible kind
Nor delectable to your palate
But as I have known you since long
I hope it will appease you

In poetry’s platter
I shall serve my thoughts warm,
Garnered in the lonely hours
Of my solitude!

The only dish I have!
Have you ever wondered
Why a river is pulled towards the sea
But the ocean crashes against the rocks
How the sun smiles
But the moon weeps
How the trees whisper in the breeze
But argue emotion  in the wind

Have you ever considered
How minutes pass us by
But time stands still when in love
Why the tears of angels fall
But in praise voices are raised to heaven
How death is a passing
But is the gift of life reborn
Try
swimming against the tide today
And if you drown
It's better than drifting forever
A beautiful rose grows on a grave
It is tendered by the remorseful
Caressed by the breeze
Hidden by the moon
Vivid in flame in summer
Innocent in existence by winter
Under the named stone
The eternal love that rests below
Opens its soul
Offers its heart to the petal
A beautiful rose grows on a grave
It is cared for by the caring
Watered by heaven
Raised by the sun
Given rest by the Autumn
Reborn by the spring
Under in the rich earth
The life that is just sleeping
Just waiting
Offers life into its roots
Life is quite eccentric,
Its motives are arcane,
Storms may rage and sputter.
The sun may rise again.

Agony may perish.
Ecstasy may dwindle.
Days may last forever.
Time may lie or swindle.

Life’s but a dalliance;
A ripple on a wave.
All in life that’s certain
Is life cannot be saved.

Will you be encumbered on the day your life says goodnight?
Or will you melt in anguish as your soul takes final flight?
I love to hear your laughter
It Thrills me to  the bone
I often hear in the same ear
I use when listening to the phone
First time that I heard it
In the realm of almost asleep
Until suddenly I realized what I was hearing
And my heart took a leap

So then I lay there Wide Awake
Annoyed at myself for interrupting me
If you never experienced this for yourself
Then you have no idea to what degree

That your temperature will rise
Or the chill you feel inside
Or the uphill climb you pursue
To get back to what waking just denied

I lay back down and try to relax
Knowing that seeking it..,.
...denies its return

Still I try to quell anything that distracts

Whisperingly quiet I tiptoe towards sleep
Just as I reach
Carefully peering over the edge
I hear it
Then with smile on my face
Time will never ever erase
I tumble with laughter echoing
Down into the deep

That sound now like a photograph
Oh how I love to hear you laugh
I love...i love..
I truly love .....
I love ...to hear you laugh.
