Poetic Inquisition

Do you believe in me or fancy a game?
Will you deceive me or feel the same?
Can I be trusted, or will I fail?
Is your heart honest, or will it quail?

Is your smile genuine, or just a mask?
Is your vow forever, or will it crack?
Where’s the message, if I should depart?
I need your love, Christ-like, from your heart.

He set me free, a slave of my mind.
His light has shone, a guiding kind.
You say I’m blessed more than I know.
But prophets question, even when they show.

Do you believe in me? Do you trust her?
Will she be there, twenty-five years, sooner or later?
Can he support you when you’re hurt and caged?
Are you united, or will you be enraged?

Can you be immortal without life’s end?
Is shared blood enough to be a friend?
Whose side are you on in this great fight?
How much do you need to see the light?

Who truly loves you, who’s just a fake?
Can you withstand betrayal, for goodness’ sake?
Do you forgive or hold a grudge?
What kind of pain makes your spirit budge?

Where were you thrown when danger was near?
What bridges burned, fueled by fear?
Revenge creeps in, a bitter seed.
You want to be like Christ but can’t concede.

You want His path but won’t fight the fight.
You want to be known for spreading light.
This is a lesson for all to see.
I’ve been abandoned, lost, and set free.

I hold grudges like a stubborn judge.
Don’t let me resent you; that’s not enough.
His parables spoke with lifelike grace.
Can I find clarity in your embrace?

Is this real, or just a fleeting dream?
I question everything, it doesn’t seem.
Family, friends, and the world around.
Will I ever find where your love surrounds?

A flawed beginning, mauled by the crowd.
Stressed and hiding under the clouds.
Respect turns to doubt, a bitter pill.
How many leaders and saviors did you betray and ****?

Is it Andres or someone bold?
Is it Leni, Francis, someone wise or someone old?
Is it me, or is it just a crazy thought?
The answer’s hidden, where it can’t be sought.

Dieciocho (Eighteen)
Kael Carlos Jun 2018

Nagpatuloy hanggang Pebrero pati Marso,
Kadalasang naiisip kapag nag-iisa sa kwarto,
Hanggang sa eskwela, daanan, lansangan, lungsod, barangay’t baryo.

Naputol man ang ating koneksyon,
Hinding-hindi ka mawawala sa ‘king imahinasyon,
Ipinagbawal man upang turuan nang leksyon,

Pinaghigpitan man’y iginagalang ko

Where am I now?
Kael Carlos Jan 2018
I feel the breeze,
But I also feel the flame.
I’m trapped in a squeeze,
Am I a player or am I in the game?

What role do I play?
Am I the God or am I the pawn?
Where do I lay?
At dusk or ‘til early dawn?

I don’t know what’s happening.
It’s so noisy and cramped.
Am I still playing?
Or am I already ******?

It’s too dark.
I can’t afford to see.
“I just need a spark.”
That’ll be my only plea.

Am I already safe?
I don’t even know.
I feel a little bliss of chafe.
Maybe I’m not at all in control.

Maybe I won’t be ‘til I die.
Still, I must make the final blow.
Where am I?
I don’t know.

Nag-usap tayo
Kael Carlos Dec 2017
Nag-usap tayo tungkol sa pagmamahal
At sa mga natagpuang lungsod,
Tungkol sa mga kayamanan
Na nakabaon sa ilalim ng pusod,
Tungkol sa buntong hininga ng ilog,
Sa paglaho ng dagat, ika'y nabasa
Mga alak na may halong itlog
Sa kumukulong tasa ng tsaa.

Nag-usap tayo tungkol sa sining
Sa naglalagablab na ginintuang apoy,
Isang binibining nakapiring
Mga nawawalang ala-ala
Mga kinalimutang pangalan,
Na naglalagapag sa ngala-ngala
Mga kagustuhang 'di mapagbigyan,
Sa pagkislap ng bituin
Isulat ang mga nais na malinawagan
Kalooban ma'y kainin,
At mga anino'y lumabo
Sa gabing nakakapaso

Nag-usap tayo tungkol sa mga lobo
At marami pang mga bagay,
Sa pagtindig ng mga pabo,
Tungkol sa mga orasang tumatagay
At sa pag-ikot ng mga sirko,
Kung paano ang pagtili ng mga kalapati
Nagsiliparan sa itaas,
Sa ilalim ng bahaghari
Ako'y humihiling ng basbas
Ngunit higit sa lahat
Napag-usapan natin ang ating pagmamahal.

Tatsulok
Kael Carlos Dec 2017

LOVE IN SPACE
Kael Carlos Sep 2017
There are thousands of other planets out there,
But why was it me that you chose to show that you care?
To show that you care? Or to show me despair?
Why did you choose me to fall into your traps and your devil snares?

In space only the skin of your feet peels off,
But, Love, I felt like being skinned alive when I saw you were happy with Christophe,
While in Venus a day is longer than a year,
The truth that we can’t last for years is the thing that I fear,

The astronauts were placed in quarantine after returning from the moon,
It’s ironic that we fell in love today and ended it at noon,
At noon, noon is the time we say goodbye to the morning,
Then slowly transitions to the night of mourning,

A million Earths could be filled inside the Sun,
However, I was filled with grief when you told me that our relationship was done,
They say that you become taller in outer space,
But I feel smaller every time you deny me face to face,

In space, there is extreme weather warning,
But what is extreme for me is that I was replaced without any warning,
The moon looks bigger in the horizon, doesn’t it?
But every time I see it I remember us, I remember you bit by bit,

You can cry in space but your tears won’t fall,
I wish that I lived out there so no one can see me weep at all,
As I cry and pour all my heartaches to the moon,
I still hope and wish that we will be back together soon.
I love you still and I always will

Wala
Kael Carlos Aug 2017
I am Kael Carlos
