Spring
Marian Jun 2013
The little snowdrops peeped through
Their bed of fresh white snow and ice
And the sign of spring lingers on the breeze
The heavenly scent of honeysuckles and lilacs
Mingle with that of lavender
And all the air holds
Heavenly scents and sounds
And the veil of celestial sky
Held birds flying in the air
On beautiful wings
And that green hill
Held a cloak
Of a thousand
Daisies and cotton blossoms
And the ocean's
Hibiscus flower
Unfurled it's wings
And sung a song of spring
With the birds that fly
Upon beautiful wings
Cool sand
Upon hot bare feet
Leaving footprints
All along the shore
We picked up
Our treasure box of
Sandy-gritty seashells
And headed back home
Looking back once or twice
At the singing waves
And the dancing palm trees
And the shore of sand
Holding countless footprints
And millions
Of dew-kissed
Hibiscus flowers
And we whispered
On the salty wind
Goodbye*

Seaside Evening
Marian Aug 2013
A beautiful sunset
Fading in the west
A path in golden sand of footprints
Leading to the sea
The wind whistles through the trees
All around a heavenly dark golden glow
Shines at the shore
Beyond the sunset is heaven
Beyond that celestial veil
God is making a place for His Saints
Beyond the golden glow
The heavenly choir forever sing
Beyond the sea
God is there
Making many mansions
There will be harps for us to play
Beyond the sunset
He is there!

Sonnet: Forests
Marian Feb 2013
Fairies live in the Enchanted Forests
Where breezes cool their beautiful faces
A forest where there are never tourists
Where Fairies are dressed in pretty laces
Where sunrays shine across the Forest path
So picturesque, beautiful, and divine
Have you seen this place? No one ever hath
Except me and the Fairies of Sunshine
This is where the beautiful Fairies dance
Forever and into eternity
Where breezes blow and in one quick sweet glance
They fly away where I cannot them see
Tonight they'll be singing a lullaby
And the Moon will watch from the deep blue sky

Sunshine
Marian Dec 2012
Part I

I feel the sunshine,
The warmth and the beauty
Of it on my face.

Sunshine in my heart
Making me sing a sweet song,
A sweet melody.

Sunshine in my face,
Leaving me it's pretty grace,
Of it's love so warm.

Sunshine in my head,
Making me think of my friends,
And my parents dear.

Sunshines on you, friend,
Makes your heart light and happy,
Makes you feel carefree!

Makes you want to dance,
Through fields of everlasting
Sweet and soft flowers.

Sunshines through dark,
Making everything light,
It is day again.

Sunshine forever,
Even through dark times in your,
Beautiful-bright life!

Spring (Tanka)
Marian Feb 2013
Little buds open
Birds sing from the tall green trees
And daffodils sway
In the gently blowing breeze
Cats watch dancing butterflies.

*Marian~
This is my first Tanka!
Marian Jan 2014
Right before the thunderstorm
Clouds of grey line the sky
The breezes stir even a little
And rustle through the tall, tall pines
Leaves are scattered on the ground
The scent of rain fills the air
The stifling hot summer day
All of a sudden cools off
The wind picks up
And the sky is black with rage
Green leaves and twigs and small branches
Are flying through the air
Lightening flashes vibrantly
And thunder follows right behind with a crash
That ear splitting "boom" makes me jump and cringe
Rain suddenly pours from the heavens
And it roars upon the roof
Raindrops wash the porch
Of any dust or summer dirt
The ground tries its best to drink the rain
Yet still leaves puddles all around
The sun shines and then fades again
And the sky turns blackish-bluer still
Until that familiar sound of thunder
Startles me and makes me frightened
Thunderstorms are dark, yet lovely
And scary, yet beautiful
I guess I like thunderstorms
But just am afraid of them

Haunted House.
Marian Oct 2012
Part I

The house is as haunted as its name,
The house really isn’t the same!
The people in it are dead and gone,
The trees and bushes are not cut;
There is a graveyard past the woodshed hut.

The graveyard is covered with leaves and moss,
Leaves that the wind has tossed,
To be tossed again no more;
One day like them in the sky I’ll soar;
Only to be known as them no more.

The rain is streaming down,
And there they are lying safe and sound,
While the rain beside them pours all around.

Low! A car pulls up to the house,
Yet there they are still lying as quiet as a mouse,
The lightning flashes and hits the ground;
With a loud and bellowing sound;
Yet the still it do not hear;
Even though it is loud and clear.

Why can’t you it hear?
Don’t you know its loud and clear?
We are the dead do you expect us to hear,
The things that to you sound loud and clear?
We are the dead and you are alive and you can hear things we can’t,
Don’t you know you’re waking the dead? Go away you little scant.

The rain is coming down in torrents,
Yet there they are lying dormant;
I thought this house would look better in Spring,
But no, not even when the birds begin to sing.

Part II

There is darkness everywhere,
There is lightning in the air;
There the lady ghost sits in her chair,
Look at the car sitting by the house over there.
The skeleton in the locked trunk,
By now hath stunk,
Until he could stink no more. . .
In that trunk sitting by the attic door.

Is he the dead that must be respected like the others,
Fathers, daughters, husbands, wives, and Mothers?

Must we be so quiet as a mouse,
That we aren’t heard in that dark old house?

Must we so soon go away?
And never again here we stay?

There is an air of creepiness about the place,
And they that are buried there do not run the humane race.

They were cold ever since that night,
When their family saw and told the sight.

Yet they so alive alive seem,
To me it is but a dream,
While I sit beside the clogged up stream
This place is haunted, I could scream!
Yet I keep it all in,
I can hear that dead old hen,
Still clucking her evening song,
Almost all the night long.

And while she’s dead I know she’s not,
It was her I loved a lot!

The big old rooster isn’t here though to scare her anymore,
Perching up on his perch behind the door,
He was a Rode Island Red,
And he isn’t here because the butcher cut his head
"I am so sorry," now I said.

Flamingos
Marian Apr 2013
Flamingos are my VERY favourite bird,
I love their adorable faces and their feathers of soft
Dark pink satin
They look so innocent and sweet
Never fly away, my sweet birds
If you would I would cry very hard
My tears would make an ocean for them
To wade and swim through
And my love for them would turn
Into to a mighty palm tree, tall and strong
With it's lacy green leaves providing shade
For you, my adorable Flamingo
And my thoughts about YOU would
Be transformed into infinite grains of sand
My blue eyes would turn into the sky
That you would fly in
But please, my dearest Flamingo
Never fly away forever
Or my heart should break
And turn into the blooms of Bleeding Hearts
My heart would be like petals squished and ruined
Never to be put together again

Diamond Head Romance
Marian Nov 2012
I love this place the most,
The full moon's shadows on the rocky island coast,
There's a ring around the moon big and bright;
This is one of the most beautiful nights!

The crashing blue waves are in motion,
The whale came up out of the ocean,
There are clouds in the sky and a faint sunset in the night;
The moon rays slant under the ocean big and bright!

The fishes and dolphins swiming beautifully under the sea,
This place is quite a treasure for me,
The clouds look as if they dance;
For people call this place Diamond Head Romance.

For my Enchanted Woodland Fairy
Who is so very sweet
She always encourages me
With the sweetest of words
She loves me and I her
She has little fluttering wings
And she has a crown of rosebuds
Sitting upon her pretty hair
Today is my Fairy's Birthday
She will eat the most sweetest cake
And drink the most wonderful honeysuckle dew
With her lips of cherry
She kisses the flowers sweet
She weaves the most prettiest gowns
For the other little Fairy folk
Who use those gowns to dance in
Under the Enchanting Moonlight
That dances through my bedroom at Night
She is a sweet Fairy with a pretty
Face
Her has the prettiest ringlets
That I ever did see
She dances through the rain and through the snow
And yes, you've guessed it
Her name is Adreishka Moonlight Luciano

Sunset Cottage
Marian Jun 2013
Down a long lane
With a sunset in the west
Flowers here and there
Tall firs and pines
From in the distance
The song of a bubbling creek
Comes from the dark beautiful forest
Where shade mingles with twilight skies
Only the faint painting of a sunset
Is left in the celestial veil of
Sky now
Slowly the colors
Bleed and fade
Then suddenly all together vanish
As I walk down this lane
Listening to the evening sounds
Crickets, cicadas, and katydids
The song of the whippoorwill
And the solo of the wood thrush
Makes me dance alone
On that long lane
Now I skip and now I jump
And now I twirl around
'Til I make my way to that sequestered cottage
That makes beauty sing
And happy tears cry
Some say it's just a cottage
Nothing fancy or grand
But in my heart I know
That this cottage is
A Home Sweet Home indeed
And I will always remember
This scene I created and painted in my head
Perhaps this painted journeys
Will help my broken heart heal
And my broken wings mend
Whenever I think of
Sunset Cottage

The Country Lane
Marian Nov 2012
I love that country lane,
On which it is about to rain.
It is such a beautiful sight,
I love this place with all my might.

Of in the distance I can see,
That sunset so dear to me,
With flowers here and there;
And God's painting in the air.

I see a few cherry petals on the drive,
To really see that place is just an emty strive.
It is alive in the picture I can see,
Yet still it is all the same dear to me!

Winter Is Coming!

Winter is coming!
With arctic winds
And bitter frost
Lining the cold ground
Frozen dewdrops glisten
In the meadow by light
Of morning sunshine
Winter is coming!
Can't you feel the stinging
Breezes nipping our faces?
When lacy snowflakes start
Pouring out of the grey clouds
Flowers lay dormant until next Spring
And animals go to sleep
Winter is coming!
Can't you feel it in the air?

Fisherman's Paradise
Marian Nov 2012
Gulls fly in the sky,
Way, way up so high,
The mountain soars up into the air;
Snow on the mountain is scattered everywhere!

The lake doesn't quite look like an ocean,
The Fisherman stands fishing paused in motion,
The pines around the mountain. . ----- everything reflects in the lake;
To you this place doesn't look real but for me this place certainly isn't fake!

The only blue in the sky is in the shape of a gull the rest is white,
I shall strive to see this place with all my might,
On one side there is a rocky bank;
The Fisherman is in shallow water so he hasn't sank!

The pine and fur trees are standing in a row around the base of the mountain,
I so want to see this place again and again,
The lake's water looks cold, clear and blue;
The Fisherman's back is turned towards us so he hasn't seen me or you!

The Fisherman is fishing but when he gets home he'll have his fish and cooked rice,
This place is so beautiful,
No wonder people call it;
Fisherman's Paradise!

The Old Tree Swing
Marian Jan 2014
Childhood memories of yore
Drift through my head
As I watch that old tree swing
Many a Summer ago
I would swing there as a child
But now I am a grownup woman
But my children swing there now
Lovingly I watch
That old tree swing
And memories fond
Fill my mind
Like the rustling breeze
Making that tree swing
Rock back and forth

* * * * * * * * * * * *
My Mother is dead
And now as we fond children recall
How she loved to swing
Upon the tree swing
That is not there anymore
The tree was cut down yesterday
And the swing was destroyed
Vanishing with the swing
Are the happy golden memories
Of many happy days
Spent as children
Swinging upon the swing
That is now destroyed
Along with our Mother's
Childhood home

Romantic Sunset
Marian Aug 2013
Two lovers are standing on the shore,
Beautiful this place shall be evermore,
There is a beautiful sunset painted in the sky;
Beautiful palm trees stand so high.
There is a rocky island in the west,
And all the birds have flown to rest,
The beautiful waves are in motion;
The sunset is reflected in the ocean.
This place I hold dear to my heart,
God created such a beautiful work of art,
The sun is sinking behind the sky;
This place is so beautiful I could cry.
The ocean breezes create a symphony,
Beauty is woven in the air so sweetly,
This place in my heart is kept;
I love this beautiful Romantic Sunset.

Raindrops
Marian Jan 2013
I love rain
don't you?
I think it's like a lovely lullaby singing one to sleep at night
rain is a joy not a sorrow
when you hear it on your roof at night pattering a sweet song to help you sleep
in your warm bed
the best thing about is it brings lots of fun
rain
rain on pine needles
rain on trees
rain flowers
rain on grass
rain on bushes and plants
rain everywhere
rain falling from the dull grey sky
kissing my fair cheeks
raindrops
falling from the sky
like Heaven's tears falling from the clouds
rain like dewdrops that fairies drink
rain on honeysuckles in the enchanted forest
sparkling on thick hunter green moss like beads scattered for the fairies to make petals
for flowers
rain inside the fairy ring where at night fairies love to dance and sing
with hearts so carefree
their beauty like that of day
raindrops everywhere
even in Fairyland

Azalea Forest
Marian Aug 2013
Beautiful pink azaleas are growing here and there,
A touch of surreal pink fills the forest air,
Tall, tall trees beautifully grow;
Oh I love this forest so!
Patches of light-green grass,
Grow here and there on the forest path,
Sunlight illuminates the air;
Birds are chirping without a care.
God created each azalea with love,
Just as He made the beautiful dove,
Evening sunlight dances in the west;
Shining in the Azalea Forest.

Those Evening Bells
Marian Oct 2012
Those evening bells! those evening bells!
How many a tale their music tells,
Of youth and home and that sweet time
When last I heard their soothing chime.

Those joyous hours are passed away;
And many a heart that then was gay,
Within the tomb now darkly dwells,
And hears no more those evening bells.

And so 'twill be when I am gone;
That tuneful peal will still ring on,
While other bards shall walk these dells,
And sing your praise, sweet evening bells!

The Little Busy Bee
Marian Nov 2012
How doth the little busy bee
Improve each shining hour,
And gather honey all the day
From every opening flow'r!

How skillfully she builds her cell!
How neat she spreads the wax!
And labours hard to store it well
With the sweet food she makes.

In works of labour or of skill,
I would be busy, too;
For Satan finds some mischief still
For idle hands to do.

In books, or work, or healthy play,
Let my first years be passed,
That I might give for ev'ry day,
Some good account at last.

Grace
Marian Feb 2013
Grace. Grace for me,
She brings Grace forever and eternally,
Grace is like the sunshine;
Forever. Forever mine.

When I was sad she helped me up,
And placed in my hair a yellow buttercup,
She is ALWAYS there for me and I for her;
The cats always love to beside her purr!

Grace is laughter, laughter for me,
Grace is like the graceful waves of the sea,
Grace is mine;
Grace is as pure as sunshine!

She is an angel with wings,
And a kind heart that forever sings,
That sings of peace and love;
And flys upon wings of a dove.

Graceful is my Grace,
She always puts things rightfully in their place,
So things are just as they should be;
Grace forever made for me!

Palm trees bow to her,
And kittens forever purr to her,
She wears a hibiscus crown;
While all the leaves come tumbling down.

Grace loves flowers,
Which sing to her in the long weary hours,
Which comforts her when she cries;
And lifts the burden so she won't sigh!

Grace is amazing,
Grace is saving,
Grace is love;
And she is a peaceful dove!

Part One

Cool sand upon the Tropical shore
where footprints are inprinted into the sand
so sweet and sad and pretty
pastel sunsets nearly bring me to tears
such a longing to see a tropical ocean myself
but I remember I can see them through the pictures
that I look at which inspires my poetry
so right now in my mind's eye I am at the ocean
and the breeze is blowing my golden-brown hair
I love the tropical oceans and seas wherever the may be
vivid sunsets and sunrises of such lovely colour
palm trees are dancing and swaying in the breeze
oh how I can see this in my mind. . . All of it so clearly
I can see and hear the singing waves
the dancing trees
the fishes which swim under the ocean
and so much more. . . I see it all!
Ever so vividly, ever so clearly!

Precious is your Hibiscus stem
Which is full of love to the core
My Sis I love you forever more

My Emerald Gem, I love you
I always wish to give you my happiness when you feel blue
Thank you so much for being such a lovely Sis
My dear, I wish I could give you a hug and kiss!

I wish I could give to you a bouquet
Of every flower that would sing to you each day
That way you would always be happy
As you play your Cello loudly and clearly

I wish I could give to you a Hibiscus crown
To grace your head, while you dance in your gown
To the sweet song of your Cello
With sweet songs Classical and mellow

I want to say to you

The Life Of Fairies
Marian Nov 2012
Let the sun and moon be a comfort to you,
Under skies of clear blue.
Let the faerie dust around you fly,
One burden lifted. You heave a sigh.

Do like me and get into a boat,
And find a water lily bloom that down the river did float.
Weave a web of colours gay,
Even if the be day be gray,
There is still light around you;
Under skies of clear blue.

For You ♥
Marian Jul 2013
If I ever had a pedal harp
You'd be the first
I'd play it to
You'd be the first
To hear me pluck
My harp strings
May your heart strings
Play the finest melody ever
And may your life always be
The most surreal orchestra
I hope you don't leave here
May the Fairies dry your tears
And wipe your pretty blue eyes
If I ever had a viola or a violin
You would be the first to hear it
And I would teach you how to play it too
But since I don't have those instruments
All I can play for you is the piano
And I admit, I am not that good at it
If I ever wished a million wishes
And all of them came true
I would share them all with you
You are the world's greatest Dad
And I love you
And so does God and all of His Angels and Fairies
I hope you awaken to bluebells kissed with dew
And fields full of blooming flowers
And red crimson sunsets
Overlooking the beautiful ocean
That I talk about in my poems
Surrounded by palm trees
And gritty sand
And sandy seashells
Breezes tasting like coconuts and salt
I hope you awaken to sunrays
Glistening on the forest floor
And shining across that sequestered path
Take my hand and walk with me
And I'll wish you the sweetest of dreams
Dancing ferns, and lacy-green palms
Waltzing Fairies, and flying birds
Adorable Flamingoes
Mossy islands
And beautiful waterfalls
Bubbling creeks
And tall, tall mountains
Like the finest patchwork quilt
Singing rills
Sparkling snowflakes
And beautiful ocean treasures
All of it I'd wish in your dreams
The song of the pedal harp lulling you to sleep
Along with the majestic songs of the double bass
I love you, Dad and always will

Night
Marian Nov 2012
As I am sitting up in bed looking out my window at night,
I notice the moon big and bright.
Such a beautiful treasure,
Just looking at it is my delightful pleasure.

A cloud passes and hides the moon a little while from sight,
When the cloud has passed it again shows it's light.
I hear the crickets loud clear music from somewhere,
There the moon still hangs in the air.

The moon casts it's shadows on the ground making it look like snow,
Is it beautiful? Yes, I know.
The stars twinkling in the sky,
Like winking soldiers way up high.

Night is one of my favorite times,
When everybody's asleep and 4:00 the clock chimes.
Night is when the roses bloom,
And when the moon's bright shadows cast into the room.

Night is the time when Katy-Dids sing,
The only time when Butterflies stop flying on satin wings,
The time when diamonds sparkle on the silver ring.

When rubies sparkle in the night,
From the moon which makes everything look beautiful and bright,
The only light in the quiet and peaceful night,
Is the moon the natural night-light.

And lots of happiness to you I do send.
I hope your birthday was happy,
With smiles and giggles sunny,
The best of wishes I wish for you;

Lacy Snowflakes
Marian May 2013
Lacy white snowflakes hit the ground
Drifting from the grey clouds
Snowflakes kiss my cheeks
The snow catches on the branches of pines and firs
Evergreens and majestic trees are sleeping
In snows cotton blanket
So lovely, pure and innocent
Are the snowflakes that fall
To the ground in muted silence
And in pristine beauty

They silently fall

The Last Bouquet
Marian Oct 2014
I woke up extra early
To pick wildflowers from the meadow
I gathered goldenrods and roses
And picked some baby's breath
I watched the dewdrops scattered
Across the blades of grass
I watched the colors of gold
And lavender infuse the morning sky
I took a piece of baby blue ribbon
And tied it around my flowers
To hold your special bouquet in place
For this is your last bouquet here
And this is your special day

Sad day today....I feel sorry because
My mom is trying to help our sick cat, Fluffy

Ode To Lilacs
Marian Dec 2012
Lilac, Lilac purple are thy sweet-pretty blooms,
Beautiful to be on hats lilac plumes.

Lilac, Lilac sweet is thy perfume,
Thy petals were made on a fairy loom.

Lilac, Lilac, purple are thy sweet-pretty blooms,
Lilac, Lilac, thy sweet odour fills the room!

Ephesians 4
Marian Jun 2013
I therefore, the prisoner of
the Lord, beseech you that ye
walk worthy of the vocation
wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and
meekness, with longsuffering,
forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavoring to keep the
unity of the Spirit in the bond of
peace.
4 There is one body, and one
Spirit, even as ye are called in one
hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one
baptism,
6 One God and Father of all,
who is above all, and through all,
and in you all.
7 But unto ever one of us is
given grace according to the
measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When
he ascended up on high, he led
captivity captive, and gave gifts
unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended,
what is it but that he also
descended first into the lower parts
of the earth?
10 He that descended is the
same also that ascended up far
above all heavens, that he might
fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles;
and some, prophets; and some,
evangelists; and some, pastors
and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the
saints, for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the
body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity
of the faith, and of the
knowledge of the Son of God, unto a
perfect man, unto the measure
of the stature of the fulness of
Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no
more children, tossed to and fro,
and carried about with every
wind of doctrine, by the sleight of
men, and cunning craftiness,
whereby the lie in wait to
deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in
love, may grow up into him in all
things, which is the head, even
Christ:
16 From whom the whole body
fitly joined together and
compacted by that which every joint
supplieth, according to the
effectual working in the measure of
every part, maketh increase of the
body unto the edifying of itself in
love.
17 This I say therefore, and
testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth
walk not as other Gentiles walk,
in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding
darkened, being alienated from
the life of God through the
ignorance that is in them,
because of the blindness of their
heart:
19 Who being past feeling have
given themselves over unto
lasciviousness, to work all
uncleanness with greediness.
20 But ye have not so learned
Christ;
21 If so be that ye have heard
him, and have been taught by
him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 That ye put off concerning
the former conversation the old
man, which is corrupt according
to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit
of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the
new man, which after God is
created in righteousness and true
holiness.
25 Wherefore putting away
lying, speak every man truth with
his neighbour: for we are
members one of another.
26 Be ye angry, and sun not: let
not the sun go down upon your
wrath:
27 Neither give place to the
devil.
28 Let him that stole steal no
more: but rather let him labour,
working with his hands the thing
which is good, that he may have
to give to him that needeth.
29 Let no corrupt
communication proceed out of your mouth,
but that which is good to the use
of edifying, that it may minister
grace unto the hearers.
30 And grieve not the holy
Spirit of God, whereby ye are
sealed until the day of
redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath,
and anger, and clamour, and evil
speaking, be put away from you,
with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to
another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for Christ's
sake hath forgiven you.

Cheer up, my sweetest Sis
Even though we are miles away we are so near
The bonds of love that we give each other
Make us seem so near

Please, my dearest you are my inspiration
So please, I beg you not to cry
And if I could play the harp for you and make
It's songs all sunshine and joy dedicated to YOU I would!

I'm happy now, my sis for
My Dad has been thinking a lot of your Cello
And how it's songs sound so pretty
And I've been thinking of the same

We spoke about your Cello just last night
And how all Cellos sound so pretty
And about Harps and Bassos we spoke
We talked about Trumpets and all kinds of instruments

Spoke about their beauty
And I still wondered how your Cello would sound
But I know it would sound very pretty and sad
Because I've heard Cellos before but none played as beautifully as yours!

That I know! And all I've said about you is true, SWEETEST Sis
And I understand your passion for all animals and can't
Stand when they get hit on the road
I can't stand it either so I can relate

If I could walk with you through fields of flowers,
Walk with you by the sea, pick some hibiscus blooms,
And listen to your Cello songs I would do so

But I feel so sad. . . and I am sickened at what I've done
Just look! I've made my sweetest Sis sad!
Oh, my Sis if only I could dry your tears
So let this poem comfort you, my Love

Please, feel happy
And know this if I could play Harps,
Cellos, Trumpets, Flutes, Violins,
Celestas, Chimes, Bassos, and the rest
I would, to make you happy and smile

What can I do, sweet Sis to make you smile?
If I were to play the Piano would your tears turn to smiles?
If I were to make an Hibicus Crown to grace your head,
Would your tears turn to dew?

If I were to walk with you by the sea would your tears turn to laughter?
What can I do to make you happy, my dearest sweetest Sis?
If I were to take you to Fairyland would you be glad
Instead of sad?

Sun Rays In Grenolds Park
Marian Mar 2013
Sunrays hit the parking lot,
This place is cool instead of hot,
The palm trees catch my eye;
As I look up into the beautiful sky.

There are no other buildings,
Save for one pavilion,
No cars or people are around;
Just me and not even a bird to make a sound.

But I love it here,
This place I hold very dear,
In my mind's eye and my heart's door;
Just waiting for me to explore.

Other trees and bushes are in the Forest,
But right here is where I'll stop to rest,
This place which I hold dear to my heart;
Remains: Sunrays in Grenolds Park.

Mother's Day
Marian Oct 2012
Everyday is Mother's day,
Sweet, Golden, dear,
Bruises to kiss and cuts to wrap,
And wishes: Hope your day holds cheer;
Helpful ways never asked,
And drooping souls to hurry;
Gifts to open and meals to plan,
There's no time to worry.

But mistakes bloom on to Wisdom,
Waiting grows power,
And love, that was the reason,
Is a wage for each lonely, and sad hour.
And everyday Daddy and Daughter make willful and sweet,
Hastens the time till that great day
When hope and haste meet.

A Walk In Autumn
Marian May 2013
Leaves fall to the ground
Lovely Autumnal paths
Look so beautiful
Especially today
When the fallen leaves
Create a twister on the ground
Happily like little children they
Skip and hop and run
The smell of the smoke
From chimneys
Fills the air with a
Lovely odour
Smoke rises from the chimneys
Of the small pretty
Cottages
Autumnal paths
And lovely Autumnal
Country lanes
Lead to the beautiful
Cottages which are
Hidden from the busy roads
Set back from life
Set back in a grove of
Pretty trees
I have always loved
The beauty of Autumn
With it's beautiful country lanes
And Autumnal paths
Enchanted Autumn Forests
Are where the Autumnal Fairies dwell
In the coolness of the Forest
And they will sometimes fall asleep
On brittle Autumn leaves
The leaves of Autumn fall to the ground
Dancing and twirling as they fall
Then spinning on the ground
Round and round they dance
And skip on those paths
And country lanes
The cold bitter winds
Dance through the trees
That stand tall with pride
In that beautiful Forest
When I took
A walk in Autumn

Ten Peaks
Marian Nov 2012
I see ten mountain peaks,
Their beauty I seek,
There they are clothed so fancy yet meek!

I see hunter-green furs,
I also see some larkspurs,
There are trees on either side;
Of the beautiful waterfall wide.

I see boulders piled nearly as high,
As high as the trees and peaks which almost touch the sky,
Oh, how I would love to go there;
To see the ten peaks and take in the lovely fresh mountain air!

There are fluffy white clouds in the sky,
And on one side a rippling hill doth lie,
There on the mountains snow is scattered here and there;
I see the light blue sky in the air!

The mountains are carefully built close together in heaps,
And in Spring all ten peaks a little peek,
Wherefore they're called ten peaks!

Ignoring The Pain
Marian Jan 2014
Today I'm trying to ignore the pain
I can imagine butterflies
Are carrying my pain to the fluffy clouds
I can imagine birds are singing to me
Instead of the constant pills I have to swallow
I can imagine that little gnomes and fairies
Are trying to take away most of my pain
Instead of the pain medicine that I take
With a snack or a meal
I can imagine that rainbows and shooting stars
Adorn the sky instead of the grey clouds
That fill the sky
I can also imagine that the day is warm enough
For our games of croquet or perhaps volleyball
Instead of the howling winds and bitter cold
That lace the air outside the house
I can try to picture myself
Reading a book underneath a sunny, shady tree
Or laying beside a babbling brook or creek
Dreaming the hours away
Instead of sitting here in the rocking recliner
Trying to ignore the pain

*~Marian~
Yeah, I guess I'm in a little pain because of
having the corners of my ingrown toenail removed, and a slight headache perhaps!!! ~~~~<3
But I'll try to ignore the pain, and be brave if possible!!! :) ~~~~~<3
Update: the podiatrist wants to see me Tuesday
I guess because he wants to see if it's healing!!!! (: ~~~~<3

My Best Friend
Marian Nov 2012
For my best friend!

Even though we each other cannot see,
I wish I could see her and she could see me,
I appreciate the friendship we share;
I am here to her love and for her care!

You're my best friend,
My love to you I send,
You're always here for me and I for you;
This is very true!

Sipping Cold Lemonade
Marian Jun 2013
You're sipping lemonade that's ****,
But cool and sweet just like your heart,
Life's sorrows and storm you depart;
It is not ****, it is not ****.

You are sipping cold lemonade,
At least that is what you just said,
You are sipping it in the shade;
Sip it in shade, sip it in shade.

Lemonade in homemade in iced tea,
Lemonade tastes very sweetly,
It is a lovely treat for me;
Ineffably, ineffably.

Lemonade isn't ever ****,
Lemonade is like your sweet heart,
I've loved lemonade from the start;
I love lemonade I impart.

Stanza Structure:

Line 1: 8 syllables; A1
Line 2: 8 syllables; A2
Line 3: 8 syllables; A3
Line 4: 4 syllables, repeated; A4, A4

Belated Mother's Day
Marian Jun 2013
Even though it isn't Mother's Day,
I hope this poem is perfect in everyway,
I always love you so;
As the days come then quickly go.
I wish I could do something grand for you,
To show you that my love for you is true,
And I am not ashamed to say;
Happy Belated Mother's Day!
Your delicious cooking fills the air,
Made by your gentle hands with love and care,
Those beautiful hands lovingly kneading bread;
Or pointing me to bed.
Or lovingly stroking those furry darlings,
But you are my brown-eyed starling,
Sweeter then them, lovelier than them all;
You succeed and do not fall!
Loving hands dancing across piano keys,
It's tinkling melody floating on the breeze,
Holding a journal on your lap;
Listening to the rain on the roof tap.
Pretty brown eyes and light brown hair,
A long face of gentle care,
O, mother dear you are better than them all;
You succeed and never fall!

Happy Belated Mother's Day, Mom!

Unicorn Dreams
Marian May 2013
Dreams of them are floating
Around inside my head
And I would love to see a real
Unicorn someday and be able
To keep it by my side. . .
Forever and always
Or perhaps a talking
Unicorn will do
That way when I'm
Sad or lonely
I can talk to
It and it will understand
Me.
I would love to ride
Those Unicorns
With my sister
That way we could have
A lovely time
Riding Unicorns
In the sky.
Goodnight, Unicorns!
Goodnight. . .

Daddy Mine
Marian Nov 2012
In all the world my Daddy is the best
Sometimes he likes to play croquet with me,
And everyday fills each moment with zest:
So that golden hours charm us with their glee.

He teaches me about Heaven and God
From the pages of our worn Bible each day,
And even though he  never uses a rod
Instead Daddy teaches me how to pray.

Sometimes he teases like a little boy,
Plays the piano and sings an old hymn,
Flooding our humble abode with such joy
And say! You guessed it! My Daddy's name is Tim.

A Fantasy
Marian Jun 2013
Your lips were dew-kissed
Under the velvety sky
The air smelled
Of a June rose
Dancing in the meadow
The sky was studded
With twinkling stars
Like diamonds and crystals
I danced through the mist
And waltzed through the trees
And balled on the shimmering lake
I played my Harp with the Fairies
Who showed me the way to Fairyland
I came here through the hidden-secret door
So now I'm in Fairyland
At least I imagine it's so
Listening to the Enchanted music
Played with the most beautiful
Instruments ever
Perhaps, even some you've
Never heard before
Like bluebells kissed in dew
Chiming like crystals across the stream
Oh, how I'd long to soar
And be a Fairy
With a Key
To Wonderland
And to Fairyland
Even in illusions
I'd love to see this place
Called: Fairyland
Where all the Fae Folk dwell
But this is just
A Fantasy
Written in the sand
