I can’t sleep,
I can’t drink,
got to see a man tonight,
shivers and shakes,
imaginary snakes,
walls closing in,
heads in a spin,
body in pain,
always the same,
I've got a need,
a powerful need.
I wrote this about a difficult time in my life many years ago, thankfully I recovered but I know for many the struggle continues.
In the company of undiluted sadness
She vomits verses upon verses
Swathes emotion
In amassed bundles of metaphor
Chokes on truth
Squeezes out the blood
For the sake of creation
And
Perhaps a cure
For the feeling

Silent screaming
Traversing the precarious
Corridors of her mind
The ricochet of sound
Awakening the repressed
Opening the floodgates of
The repugnant murk
The face of her darkness
She knows not its name
Or how it found her.
I'm like the moon
Bruised and scarred
Revolving around someone
Who has their eye on someone brighter
Than I could ever hope to be
God, look at you
Veins bluer than blue
With a surface more delicate than I ever knew
Straight from the stem your lovely buds grew
How could this world hold a beauty so true?

Rupal
Silence is not keeping quiet
because you have nothing
to say...

Silence is having a lot
to say but no desire
to speak...

She's an alphabet artist
she paints in words,

from a palette of adjectives,
nouns and verbs,

the landscape she finds
in the folds of her mind

she exhibits in volumes of verse.
