i can't stand and watch the towers of my faith
burn to the ground
i can't fall and wait for the end
i puke ***** into the galaxies of eternity
and scream to God
my soul is dying
my hope is in pipes and in bottles
and in these chains that cut my wrists
and bind me to the ground like
weeds in a garden of roses
that were never choked in arsenic
or left out to dry with pills and papers
and an endless longing for oblivion
sometimes i'm drunk and sad and i still write poems and this is one of those times evidently

han
and although I've come to
admire the heavy bags
under your chestnut eyes,
I hate to think of the demons
that keep you restless
through the night.

you are what keeps me sane
and gives me peace during
the long summer nights,
I just wish I could repay the favor.

Punk Sandwich

there he is walking down the street
slicked back hair and a thin mustache
high rise collar on his button down shirt
sparkle in his eye and always talkin trash

he loved his Italian beef on pumpernickel rye
he loved his mama and his brothers too
he wasn't your ordinary everyday punk
there was so much more and you knew he knew

fear for him does not exist or so he claims
quicker than a bolting flash of light
behind you with a jagged edge of blade
he is no one to challenge to a fight

he has connections to all the right ones
the ones you need to know for security
or to make some annoyance disappear
his word is golden shinning with a purity

a perfect friend intelligent courteous and brave
but these can all change to weapons of death
if you are so disposed to challenge his way
it just might be your very last breath

after dropping you in a pool of disguise
he will tip his fedora with playful grace
back on his brow and cigarillo between his lips
and that same old smirk upon his face

I need punk rock.
More than a Juliet.
A Juliet will tease you, get under your skin and cause you to crawl.
A Juliet will want to understand what you are.
A Juliet will ask where you are and want to know if you’re alright.
A Juliet will cause you to stumble and think about it all night.
She may pretend not to notice, she may think it’s cute.
But she still notices.

I need punk rock.
Punk rock will let you wear it on your skin and the world will see its mark on you.
Punk rock will never change because it is the wrinkles in your brain,
The stones that don’t turn sour, and the chords in your veins
Punk rock will scream out when you are feeling the most you.
Punk rock doesn’t care about you and it’s best that way.
Punk rock will live on and it will be the same now and yesterday.
I need punk rock,
More than a Juliet.

i say:
writers
have the last words,
until the editors
**** them up.
Use the anger
Use the hate
Of every burnout
That was ever late
All the leather
Every punk
Can raise their fist
And shake things up
