The Reaper
Laura Kiyan Mar 2015
He followed me everywhere I went.
My gaze could always avert to him.
From the corner of my eyes.
He was fate awaiting my return to afterlife.

I could hear the time ticking in my head.
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
Until the clock struck 12.

He came closer and closer to me.
I could see not his eyes but only his smile.
A smile that epitomized his await for my soul.
He was my reaper.

He took parts of me that I could no longer find.
And suddenly I was nothing.
Nothing but Empty.
Until finally, the last light I saw was
Darkness.

Light Within
Laura Kiyan Jan 2015
There is a different kind of love I've fallen for.
It is not the splendor of a picturesque scene
Neither is it the transcendence of a person
Its existence in the context I've used it in
Is rather unconventional.

I've fallen in love with people's passions.

Look into their eyes.

Deeply.
          Sincerely.
                        Profoundly.

You will see the way their eyes light up
When they talk with so much fervor
About the things they love doing
Or the things that make them truly happy.

Pursue those passions.
And one day,
You'll be happy too.
This is my first poem here so just message me if you have suggestions or comments for it :) Thanks!
