Today is a priceless gift
KA Mar 2014
...in a world of vivid color
WE are running through the flickering screen
kissing your perfect lips
your perfect hair on my face
legs tangled
loving every inch of you

cut to scene ....

WE are holding hands as we walk
walking a beach in Mexico
drinking tequila  under the umbrella
shading our eyes from the sun

The time will happen in this world or another
You being perfectly imperfect You
me drinking too much tequila, writing and all hands

Audrey,  your timeless beauty
and me and my faults
will wait for the sun to shine

IN my dream kissing my neck
your loving hands
my wanting
your mouth

Don't wake me

This poem is not pretty...

It's real black and white
no one wants to listen to them
few want them
families in shambles
mom was gone long ago
the *****, drug addicted, unlucky
children, adults, black , white, chinese
you name it they are there
no work
no hope
hungry and *****
few notice them
blending into the sidewalks
400 a night fill just one shelter
one shelter of thousands
crazy and sane
the forgotten and the down trodden
it could be you
you just don't want to admit it

The Homeless don't have iPhones

The cars fly about on the bridge above

home 40 feet below

cardboard box five blankets

cold nights and longer days.

not romantic

just real....

I throw insults at her with a wicked tongue
and she throws drinking glasses and fruit at me
juices dripping down the wall and glass stuck in my bare feet
a passionate ferocious love.....
