This is my body
This is my home
I will become the sun
at the centre of my own universe
But I will not allow
the timber walls of this heart
to burn away in cinders and ash
I will become stars and align myself
With the harmony of the Earth
Planting my roots in rich soil
And grow, until I am a mountain
Of living, thriving, beautiful, Oak
I will be the sun and the earth and the stars
and the dark night shall call me daughter
When I howl to the waxing moon
*You have embers inside you
Let your wildfire burn
Thine leaves art wilted, flying to and fro,
And thy limbs reach out as if in sorrow.
"Dost thou not remember what once was held?”
Thy branches crack whilst leaves into dance meld.
The moon doth rise as children’s laughter rings.
Through the night thy old hollow solemnly sings
Of twisted grins and melancholy wolf cries,
And how every man thee meet sadly dies.
But thy eternal heartbreak shall not wane
Thy every breath will be met with pure pain;
Death shall not return thee to its icy grip.
Forevermore, thou shalt bring people to Death.
Until the rope that hangs on thine branch cease,
Cursed to be known only as The Hanging Tree.
Happy Halloween

bones
Waiting for the sea she sits
writing with her fingertips
setting down herstory on the sand;

waiting, with a wistful eye
watching for the rising tide
wondering if stories can be drowned..
Have you ever felt bigger than your body?
as in your emotions swell to the point that your soul pushes against your skin
makes you question the reason you exist
have you ever felt big?
like alll attention is on you
like the world stopped for a momentt to laugh at you
critique you
make you feel alone
have you ever felt small?
as if everyone doesnt notcie you
steps all over you
the words you say fall on deaf ears
no point in speaking at all
have you ever not felt?
Have you ever
have you ever been alone?
have you ever
have you ever been without a home?
have you ever
have you ever had your heart stole
have you ever
have you ever
really
been
its more of a spoken word
