I walk in this world not quite a part of it.
I see events around me unfold.
They nether change me or define me.
I muse at their hollowness.
They do not exist on my plane.
But, they are stones to tread on.
I watch as oppression flexes its strength.
I smile to myself
My world, my life.
I exist above oppression and violence.
My mind, my intelligence is free.
Take my land, loved ones, treasures of this world.
They wait for me in the dawn of eternal round.
You have no power over me.

Nightmare
Jeremy D Scholz Sep 2014
Chased by demons born in childhood fear
Nightmares reclaim their former tier

The man with no eyes sent to steal my sight
Run and hide, panic causes my flight

Concealed in my haven; I hear his infestation
Bewildered and enraged at his vile molestation

Hidden, my breath catches, silence falls, heart pounds
Frozen in fright, steps fall near, voiceless scream, I’m found.

The Passing Parade
Jeremy D Scholz Sep 2014
People twist and swirl,
In a vague impression of motion
A surging stream, bodies mingle
The flowing crowd moves like water
In part I am drawn to join the decant
By a sense of missing human connection
Their minds wrap together twisted
The dance to the command of an embedded song
Snow-like static thoughts are unclear
Haunting blank stares bid me to stay aloof
A jovial atmosphere moves through the streets
On each face a hallow smile portrayed
With great effort, diverted gaze
Turning to new unmolested roads
I will not be swept away
By humanities passing parade

Memory Walk
Jeremy D Scholz Sep 2014
Wondering in thoughts, stirred by emotions
Memories of time spent together

Wanted distractions from the mundane
Lost in “what if” and “could have been”

The past dress in fantasy warms my heart
The walks on moonlit streets

Holding hand on rainy nights
Driving on mountain roads

Your kiss lost on my lips
Is seared into my mind

Remembrance stands bittersweet
Loved for a moment, considered forever

In the Likeness
Jeremy D Scholz Sep 2014
I look into your eyes
Human on the surface
Underneath cold unfeeling
I reach and touch your hand
Hard, cold, unyielding
You touch makes me cringe
I yell, you blankly stare
Eyes cold and dead
Is your heart stone?
I reach to strike you face
Your features splinter
A spider web fracture
I muse in amazement
You dead eyes multiplied
Many eyes peer out
I hate you heartlessness
Blood from my hand
Flows down your features
I look at my hand you look at yours
Blood on your glassy form
I take you off the wall
You sicken me, you don’t feel at all

Self-Loathing
Jeremy D Scholz Sep 2014
Blood Fist and broken glass
Hate and anger clash at last

Battle rages deep inside

Heart and mind are torn
within the soul I face a storm

Pandora’s Footsteps
Jeremy D Scholz Sep 2014
Walking the paths of childhood
A pang of familiar affection

A kinship to the child locked inside
Bound by the light that steals all mystery

The grandness of discovery, a child’s eye
Every new idea seems an adventure to undertake

Clouds that were dragons and mythical creatures
Are now water vapor pulled along by jet streams

Junk, mud, and holes in the ground
Kingdoms and castles to a child’s mind

For all the triumph knowledge holds
A lingering hope for the return of mystery

But, in Pandora’s footsteps
There is no going back
