Gonna move to Qatar
ride in a gold Beemer
playin' songs for the Emir
on a ruby studded guitar.

Live in a silver highrise
go skiing in the desert
eat caviar for desert
singin' about the disenfranchised
and ruby studded guitars.

I'll be an expat in Doha
drinkin' with the monarchy
speakin' absolute malarkey
playin' tunes for all my brohas
on my ruby studded guitar
in Qatar.

The harm leaves no mark
No scars to be seen,
Horror in the dark
Hid its face obscene,

Tasteless jokes begin
Real pain to deride,
The secrets within
At any cost hide.

Secrets weighing down
Ending the joking,
Smile turns to a frown
It's the reckoning.

Out into the light
Truth is now revealed
Casting away blight
Childhood wounds thus healed
For my friend who testified against a ******* today

Single mind you've found
To redress past ways
Each day winning ground
Living life of praise
Intone now banzai
A spark to a blaze
New born samurai

Aggression took your youth
Now searching for the truth
No land too far away
In pursuit of new life
Ending the inward strife

Rebel against the pain
Inflicted by those hands
Seeking the child to stain
Enjoy once more the peace
Made whole by His good grace
Break the bonds, feel release
Each day will bring you joy
Rising to the challenge
God has called an envoy

No room remains stilled
If with your presence filled.
Captivating smile
Open with no guile.
Living life of play
Each and every day.
To love without cease
A nephew a niece.

Snow and sun enjoy
Unparted from Lord.
This your golden boy
Enjoy your reward,
Unbreakable chord
For a friend (her dog's name is Lord)

Pyjama top, buttons just two.
Old dressing gown, elbows worn through.
Slippers frayed with holes worn at heel.
Is this how old age soon will feel?

Eyes blurred and spots a float in front
Joints ache as you kneel with a grunt.
My glasses, they’re, not in their place.
Memory is losing the race.
.....to be continued (if I remember :-P )
To all the times I held you
To all the times I cried
To all the times you hurt me
To all the times you lied
To all the times you screamed my name
and the times I screamed yours back
To every bruise you gave me
and for every bone you cracked.

To every name you called me
as your blows rained from above
To the corner that I cowered in
as you dealt out your "love"
To your friends that saw the battle scars and quickly turned away
To the drink that made you do it
even on your sober days.

I raise this glass to you my love
in thanks for all you've done
it took a while but now I see
that you're the damaged one
So when you're feeling lonely
Don't spare a thought for me
I cower there no longer
Your anger set me free.

Keep honour bright, so says the bard.
You will not find it easy-indeed it will be hard,
But honour is rewarding, in a thousand ways,
it will be of great comfort in your final days.
Keep honour bright-and guard your tongue with care
say no ill of any man-always be fair.
keep honour bright If any man offend you, smile and turn away,
he will regret his words ere the end of the day.
Keep honour bright, cause no man displeasure,
honour has it's own reward and seeks not treasure.

I wrote a little poem,
it wasn't very long,
and then I was distracted
by a glorious bird song,
A goose ate my poem,
I hope she can digest it
and it does her some good,
she's a cheeky little thing
and it's not her normal food.
