You said you enjoyed me
Like a fine wine
Then you finished me off...

Thank you for breaking me
And making me
A better me

Thank you for hurting me
And making me
A stronger me

Thank you for shooting me
And making me
Bulletproof

Thank you for burning me
And making me
Fireproof
This is an older poem. Things have changed since then. But this poem is highly relative to a lot of people and I liked it well enough so I posted it.

I sewed my mouth shut with broken heart strings,
A shard of bone to pierce the lips.
A sliver of rib, I think.
My voice was never worth hearing
unless it was channeled in ink.

Three days ago,
we were together.
It was the most beautiful day of my life.
We got high.
We laughed in the shower.
We made love, twice.
We watched movies.
I held you, and you held me.
But, a strange feeling in my heart
coupled with a sickness in my stomach
told me you were only there
to share one last day with me
because you'd be leaving soon.
Now, today, you're gone.

I want you to kiss me
Good night
Not goodbye.

To feel your hands
In mine forever
Through all the sorrows
And not just for now
Until tomorrow

To not let the unspoken
Be left behind
As well as me.

Maybe the Earth grows cold
out of longing.
For he has drifted so far from the sun,
and misses her warmth
on his aching skin.

on long winter nights
your eyes eventually
get used
to the darkness

(it's simply biology);

I got used to a life without you
in a similar way, but

I'll never stop missing the light.
