Candle flicker

Keeps mosquitos away

The wind is picking up

No sound to be heard but paper crumpling rustle of aspens

A **** seagull squaks; only here

This is desert living

Desert loving

We have a porch

It kind of feels like heaven

Just the moon and lamplights

And pajamas with no undergarments
Citronella smell

Dry breeze

Skin no longer chapped

Weathered from my initiation

During the apex of summer when I read outside at midnight

Dos personas con pelos rubios
Una niña y un hombre
Caminando en la biblioteca
Un beso en el piso
¿Buscando para que conocen?
El amor, sí el amor
Nieve nieve
No puede devolver en casa
Duerme en esta cama
Nieve nieve
Películas del gobiernos argentino y Iran
Te amo te amo
Escuchando de josh pyke
Tocarías la guitarra y piano
Comiendo la pasta de tus manos
El vino, más besos
El mar, nadar
Ríes
España
Llorando
Y entonces
Ahora
this poem was written sometime last year regarding the past

dying star (2003-2014)

i. deep breath, nerves, hug:::kiss
first
mouth//mouth exploring what we’re doing, loving
uncertainty
looking in a universe and seeing only two stars
your eyes of fire and gas
galactic comets shoot past
the world could have blown up
as long as your arms were shelter
“im scared.” “kiss me”

ii. and you were young, you didn’t know
i didn’t
what happens when two hearts pump the same blood
i loved you; i was so **** mad at you
i abandoned you
you broke my heart
two who share a dust trail

iii. the speed of light is 299,792,458 m / s
faster than a blink of an eye
or brain synapse
to think some stars we once saw are still sizzling, dying in their billionth year
one decade…oh, it feels so long
one decade, astronomy proves otherwise
then you look at me in a bizarre, pixelated portrait that only would have caused trouble the age the montagues/capulets divided

iv. we are speck granules of matter in the cosmos
physically, insignificant
a recycled newspaper
but before that day
it would be (inertia)
gravitational pull of initial lovers
or, curious, lonely, old friends
wanting to know they’re not dead
that life is not a black hole

v. we’re alive and we’re here and the earth is rotating
there is air in our lungs
let’s see each other again
just to say hey

love

love is a pernicious thing,

i thought i knew all about
now i realize

i was wrong

love is not a word, soft whisper, hand holding

love is not longing

love is not a passionate kiss

love is not a wedding band

love is not a poem

i only confess Love is a Man

as for man, no, i don’t know love

i just see glimpses in sunsets, in giggling in the dying

will i ever?

i don’t know, i don’t know

I hope my aunt became one with the red earth.
That it’s the only hell she’s experienced.
And some day she’ll welcome me with mud streaks under her eyes
To take me to her den.
