Leave things open to
happen, simultaneously
waiting to reject it

Manipulating
the tools, to justify the
truth, twisted to deny

Pretend a happy
giver, but resent taken
without strings attached

Choice is up to you
but get what I truly want
my fiendish intents

Play overt anger
a challenge to test your care
madman's despair

Mental stilettos
best to watch from the bleachers
be a spectator
Decline the invite for torment
No reactions to their games
They will move on to someone else more fun to mess with
The flowers blossomed and bloomed
As did I
I’m sure the next time around will be different
My only hope is that one day, you too, will blossom and bloom
We decided to go on
Different journeys and soar different wavelengths
A small part of me wishes that the bridge we built was strong enough for our forces I suppose in the grand scheme of things
Everything worked out the way it should have
Sappy crap about a breakup that i’ve healed from
Hiding the meaning
of life, you caused the
absurdity. Theater was not
ready for the audience.

An interim relief
comes for the aging. Blue
stars were moving away.
You will ****** the sharks.

Skulls start playing. I
yell against the salt that splits
the tongue. Thick-lipped gods
start making the paper-nests
for the wasps.

Winter becomes warm-blooded.
There was no snow on
the trees. Owl butterflies
come out at dusk to collect
their dues.

When the sun sets, moon
shaped boys unroll the centuries.
My Body Is A Cage, A Portal,
And A Stone.
My Pain Is A Friend, A Shadow
And A Foe.
My Body Is A Host, A Mortal,
And A Home.
My Pain Is A Monster, A Hunger
In My Bones.
I Cannot Wait For The Day That The Pain Goes Away.
It used to be

The kitchen table was covered with
drawings of sharks and paper dolls
works of art by small, intent fists

These have been replaced with
cigarette ash atop empty beer cans
tales of strife and rounded shoulders

I am left wondering
When will you get back to the art
and pretty music and carefree days
or is this the way

it's going to be now.
