Sitting squat in the gutter
Our bodies are charcoal
Our fingers are bone.

We are the colors
Washed out from the river
Through cobblestone curtains
The ravens have flown.

We are the maps
Of a civilized city
With sleek silver Saturns;
A chrome-cluttered rave.

We are the glances
Thrown sharp over shoulders
To plot shallow stumps
Of our moss-swallowed grave.

When you hold me in your arms,
I weep,
Tears from what I can’t articulate
The illness of a dying earth,
The fight against the demons,
The out of tune voices,
Take their toll on me,
And build,
Like mud upon my clothes,
Rest and cry,
In the safety of your lap,
The only place,
Where I am clean.

But all you ever did was reject me,
I tried to move on,
And one day it was getting better,
Then I heard your name,
And I lost it,
Then you hurt me bad,

And when you realized that,

And when you didn't hear me call back,

And now im happy.

This is a new beginning for you and me,

Happy I seem, I am afraid though,
