Grasp my hand and lead me,
Through the boneyards left behind.

Conceal the sorrows of the past,
And allow me to vestige into obscurity.

Utopia
Dylan Nicklason Apr 2015
I yearn to escape with you,
To a place where the beer is cheap,
But the memories pure.

Dwindling away our days,
Just us and the teetering shoreline.

No longer felt are the concerns of the everyday, just the gentle sea breeze caressing you, vanishing the sand from your scaled skin.

Fall into my grasp and push me into serenity,
Bury all your secrets in my skin,
And take me away to a place where I may drown in the thought of you.

Oh how I beg for the melodic utterance of your sweet voice.

To bask in the ambience of you, and learn to love deep within your embrace.

I've ****** it up again,
You'll spend all day averting your eyes from my gaze,
As I stare on through you.

This proverbial hollowing in my chest feels far too real,
Excavated, yearning for my every breath to be filled by you.

Inhibited
Dylan Nicklason Apr 2015
I'm half cut, staring blind to the ceiling, dreaming of the day your breath inhabits my soul.

I wish for a time where, to me, you are obscure, and the writing on the wall simply reads your name.

         Not my proverbial death wish.

The Silence to the Storm
Dylan Nicklason Apr 2015
Your lungs bare a breath
That drives my sensations,
Wild.

A warm, slight gust.
It takes me aback,
Like a house attempting to withstand
The mightiest of hurricanes.

I am defenceless
Against your daggering, crystal blue gaze.
It pierces my soul,
And penetrates my very heart.

I am a wounded warrior,
My heart no longer a heavy hitter,
But a lingering weakness.

Stepping into battle against your tender touch,
Would prove to be a futile mistake.

I will tremble before you,

As many have before.

You are the anchor,
Bound to my feet,
I cannot stay afloat
Whilst you plummet,

To the ocean floor.

Blind

11:57pm
I promised myself I’d get to sleep before midnight,
But her sweet scent
Illuminates a thousand memories in my mind.

Memories
Of her tender touch,
Her soft, gentle fingers
Intertwined with my own.

The way her glance would make my heart
Stop
Like the eye of a storm,
But race again once I was able to return the gaze.

I never thought I’d ever miss her
Stealing all the blankets.
Her kicking me in her sleep
like a rabid goat.

All it took was an admission
That I was in fact,
Wrong.

I just had to look into those blue pools of heaven,
and tell her:
How much I cherished our love,
How the sun wouldn’t rise if ever I was to lose her.

But I just had to win this argument.
I knew she wouldn’t leave.
This wasn’t going to be the tip of the iceberg.

Now I look coldly
Upon the remnants of our
Broken love
That surround me.

The darkness consumes not only the room,
but my soul.
The only light is the clock, turning over

11:58pm.

Lost lies
Dylan Nicklason Apr 2015
All these words I crave to utter to you,
Sit still behind my teeth.

My lips quiver with the urge to utter your name, and the confessions of my love for your perfect being.

If only the thought of you could be vanquished from my memory, so I would be able to cherish one fleeting moment without drowning in the seas of regret.
