Demons

Demons are real,
Ghosts are too.
They live inside each of us,
And destroy what makes us happy too.
Forever they live and live,
Without thinking about leaving.
They think about winning,
For they have nothing to fear of
And they know how to take
Control of our minds.

They make us fear death,
They make us fear love,
They make us feel worthless,
And nothing can win against thus.
Even though they are capable
Of such things, and they are
What we fear the most,
They are what we hang on until
Death takes power of us.

When I fell in love with you
It was like the Big Bang
A celestial cataclysm
And the world was no longer blank

And you were a paint brush
And all it took was a small splotch
To fall and color rippled across the page
Ambiguous like Rorschach's ink blots

And you were a match
A catalyst for the spark
You burned the bubble wrap
That was restricting my heart

You were first life
In a cold and barren land
The bud of a rose
Bursting through the ash

And you were an explosion
The Big Bang which created the cosmos
Before you there was nothing
Until you were all there was
I realize the Big Bang was an expansion, not an explosion, but for the sake of being poetic, let's just say it was an explosion. :)

I found heaven on earth
In my room last night
All it took was one touch
And I felt myself take flight
And in my solitude
I don't need anyone else
You may call it sin,
I call it falling in love with myself
Of course my 100th poem on here had to be about *******. I checked the guidelines before writing this and I hope this doesn't count as obscene although I don't see how it would since ******* is normal and perfectly natural.

I must be a *******
For falling in love with you
And you must also be a *******
For loving me too

Of all the types of self harm
You were the sweetest
And when I wanted to shut everyone out
You were my one weakness

And you must be a *******
For trying to pick up broken glass
But I am not a sadist and I won't let you
Hurt yourself whenever I crash

Dog's Death

She must have been kicked unseen or brushed by a car.
Too young to know much, she was beginning to learn
To use the newspapers spread on the kitchen floor
And to win, wetting there, the words, "Good dog! Good dog!"

We thought her shy malaise was a shot reaction.
The autopsy disclosed a rupture in her liver.
As we teased her with play, blood was filling her skin
And her heart was learning to lie down forever.

Monday morning, as the children were noisily fed
And sent to school, she crawled beneath the youngest's bed.
We found her twisted and limp but still alive.
In the car to the vet's, on my lap, she tried

To bite my hand and died. I stroked her warm fur
And my wife called in a voice imperious with tears.
Though surrounded by love that would have upheld her,
Nevertheless she sank and, stiffening, disappeared.

Back home, we found that in the night her frame,
Drawing near to dissolution, had endured the shame
Of diarrhoea and had dragged across the floor
To a newspaper carelessly left there.  Good dog.

george washington had false ivory
teeth, and false dreams
of ivory fields
with the ghostly
asphodel flowers
lingering in the
gloom eternal
where not even
the poets could afloat
from their river of Lethe
and there our nation lays
its fate passing
SLEEP and DEATH
BROTHERS at the gates
of fake dreams where not even
Faunus can talk them out of it
