My sister karen was a manhater
she hated all men
deliriously
she would sit on the top
of the bunkbed she shared with sue
and with one finger curl her hair
then pull it out by the roots
it was quite disturbing
she would spend hours
every saturday doing this
until she had almost no hair left
the family worried for her

During the week when I would
come home from school (I think
I was around 7 or 8) karen (being
older and bigger) would run up to me
kick me in the gut
push me to the floor
jump on top of me
grab me by the ears
and pound my head
on the floor until
my brains fell out
this went on for several weeks
until I told my parents and
they finally put an end to it

One night sue didn't want to get caught
eating an apple in bed
so she put the core in the toilet
and it clogged it
we (all four of us)
were awakened in the middle of the night
and had to line up so my mother
could beat us with a belt
until someone confessed
I was tired so I said okay
I did it
I got a good belting that night
I was suspended from school
for a week because the teacher
complained that the welts on my back
were bleeding so profusely that
lt was interrupting the learning process
of the other children

One day I was coming home from school
and I got caught in a hailstorm
I got pelted really good
Lucky for me Mr. Doty was home for lunch
so I took cover under
his light blue ford f-series pick-up truck
hail as big as golf *****
some the size of baseballs
continued to rain down
I don't know for how long
because I fell asleep

"What were you doing under there?"
he questioned as he was shaking my arm
awakening me
(I quess he thought I was messing around
or something)
I came to and stated
"THE GOLF ***** WERE FALLING
I NEEDED A PLACE TO HIDE"
"oh" he said
"you mean to tell me you were in THAT?"
"yessir" I replied
"well, your schoolday's almost over,
maybe you should go home and rest"
"yessir"
And I went home and rested

When karen turned eighteen
she married a wife beater
for nearly ten years he would
ugly 'er up
finally she couldn't take anymore
and divorced him

But she was only following tradition
my grandpa beat his wife
my father beat his wife
and al beat karen

Yep, those three knew
how to really take a beating

But, not from a hailstorm

Tuesday Weld was a frigger
She was friggin' everywhere and
Everywhere she went, she frigged
As a matter of fact
There wasn't a day that went by
In which Tuesday wouldn't frig

She frigged at the supermarket
She would frig at the mall
She frigged at the movies
She frigged at the gas-pump
She was caught frigging at the dentist
She even frigged down the shore

All her twenty-seven siblings
Worked the local house of ill-repute
It had a bar inside of it
And was Whorethorne's best kept secret
Even the police would get laid there (on Tuesdays)

Finally, the townspeople of Whorethorne
Could not take it anymore
And they burnt down The Barn
Then, just like Tuesday
They too
Went frigging nuts

robin williams' ghost goes into a ghost bar
the announcer announces him
"ladies and gentlemen please welcome
the newly arrived robin williams' ghost"
{The audience is dead silent}
robin williams ghost speaks "whoa, tough
crowd, must be a lot of zombies here tonight
anyway frankenstein goes into a bar
the bartender sees him and says
"we don't serve your kind"
frankenstein is like "huh"
the bartender replies
"you heard me, we don't serve your kind
you wanna drink, go to the monster bar
two blocks down, big sign, monster, bar"
frankenstein turns and as he is walking away
shakes his head and sighs "always the same thing
go to the monster bar, go to the monster bar.""

one little poem
can heal a hurt
one little poem
in the pocket of a shirt

a shirt that's ripped
with a spot of dirt
has a poem in its pocket
that could heal a hurt

a hurt can't heal
if a heart can't hear
the words of the poem
that create the cure

the cure for the hurt
it begins with a verse
but you need to read the words
so the cure can be heard

be heard all ye poets
check the pocket of your shirts
and speak of the poem
that can heal a hurt

a hurt can be healed
by the power of a verse
one little poem
in the pocket of your shirt

Ode to the Last Vast Wetlands

We teach our children to love Jesus
and to believe in Santa Claus
Just to mess with all their little heads
And easter bunnies bearing chocolate eggs
on the day he died and then was resurrected

We teach our children that the sun rises
When in fact it's just the earth that is turning
and when it sets, it really doesn't
But, we don't let on that sunsets aren't real

There are no Appaloosas up in Whitehorse
Just what is left of precious metal - gold
and all the souls of dead bear that I murdered
to keep a rich girl warm when it gets cold

We teach our parents that they will be rewarded
Someday, if they a-leave-a us alone
But, there always has to be that one girl
who thinks she's rich enough for baby's bone

So there you have it - something is in learning
That some of us will never figure out
Because it takes a brain to stop some God from killing
And an oil well can only provide drought

Those **** palestineans
They always start
with the throwing of the rocks

They throw the rocks at the people
and they throw the rocks at the cars
and the windows and they break the glass

And then the rocks aren't good enough
They gotta go out and get the guns

And then the guns aren't good enough
They have to throw the hand grenades

Then the hand grenades aren't good enough
They go and make the car bombs

Then the car bombs aren't good enough
They go and make a bigger bomb

Then THAT bomb isn't good enough
They gotta make a nuclear bomb

And if THAT thing goes off
Oh, for goodness sakes!

I've got a world wide plan
I'm gonna lend a hand
I've got to find a band
I'm gonna make a stand

Gonna get all the people
to shake each other's hand
Gonna smile at a hater
Try to make him understand

Feel the power of the universe
Sing the Sunday verse
Feel the power of the universe
Sing the Sunday verse

We are all one power
And that power lives and breathes
We are all one power
We can all live here with ease

Get the power of the universe
Sing the Sunday verse
Get the power of the universe
Feed the leader's purse

Give to get more; really works
One power; one purse
Give to get more; really works
One power; one purse

Praise the power of the universe
Heal the hater's hurt
Praise the power of the universe
Heal the hater's hurt

You've got to lend a hand
We're now all in one band
Let us try to understand

Their hands were so fast
as they waved goodbye.
We thought he'd be a good guy.
Why were we so high?

It was gone before he got there.
There wasn't any money left.
Nothing left for health care,
except for over there.

They called it a bailout.
Look closer!  They're not bailing, they're buying!
We'll save you IF, you let us own you.
Give us a piece and we'll keep you from dying.

No, No, No!  It's nothing like that.
You can still practice capitalism.
Just give us a piece.  You hear?
China has been living that way for years.

I drew ace nine as hold cards
So, as the raises increased at
two hundred dollar increments
I did not mind
I put it in

Then someone went all-in
and
suddenly my hold cards
became
very weak
and I folded

Now lets apply this strategy to the
current situation
Here in the USA

We are in several wars right now that
have bankrupted us
That is what wars do
"war is used to create debt"  ezra pound

World Wars cost us
Korea cost us
'Nam cost us
even the wars that were secret cost us

But, just because we spent trillions of dollars
Does not mean we have to spend trillions more

My rooster's hard, bent blue again
Might break out of her pen
I'd hate to be the headline news
or view on news at ten
Four more people died today
Struck by hotwire pole
There must be something I can do
Something I can poke

I'd like to tunnel through then, glue
your underground encavement
So, no one else could trespass
on your petals nor their softness
I see you.  How do you do?
Let songs of love begin
Carried on through morning light
May sunshine never end
And lay your head on morning wood,
together we will mend

Letting life go
Just sitting here
Laying back in my easy chair

Somebody help me
Get on my feet again
Somebody help me

I need to live
I need to love
I need your laugh
I need you, rib
I need your love

You know for centuries politicians have been trying to push their correctness on to everyone.  It's usually the first lady that does this as part of some etiquette program or something.  Etiquette is okay, I guess.  But, when you think about it, the only ones who really NEED to be politically correct SHOULD be the politicians.  Why would anyone who is NOT a politician be required to practice political correctness.  Why would a baker need to be politically correct, or a news anchor.  (Well, maybe a news anchor.)  But, an accountant or a cashier or a bus driver or a police officer.  They would have to be cashierly correct or accountantly correct or policely correct.  Wouldn't they?  Political correctness should only have to apply to politicians.

As for me, All I really have to be is poetically correct.  Yes, there IS a thing.  You can look it up if you don't believe me.  Ya know, I was thinking about poetry the other day and I remembered poetical correctness and what it was all about.  It's been stated before by many and I'll try to explain it to you, to the best of my memory.

To be poetically correct one must never use words that are negative or profane.  One must always use soft words that flow easily.  Words that produce warm feelings of sensuality and never words of hatred.  You must be descriptive when you speak of the spotted toad with the red stripe on its head and the shine that bounces off his slime when the sun shines through the tall trees of the forest where the rock he is perched on  sits parallel to a beautiful babbling brook.  Love and nature.  That should be the two things that one should write about.  Love and nature.
And the nature of love.  And one's love for nature. Or the nature of nature and the love of love. But, maybe they're not that much into nature.  Maybe they love the city and its grittiness.  Well, there you go ruininging the grandness of a city with description.  Poetical correctness.  Always think poetically and not politically and that's Poetical Correctness.
FEEL FREE TO ADD TO THIS THING CALLED POETICAL CORRECTNESS AND HAVE A POETIC DAY!

I'm packing up boxes
I'm moving away
I went to see mother
She's in her grave

She forced me to do it
at only two
Choke on her boyfriend
Spit, swallow, and chew

She labeled me branded
Her lies, never true
I'm still fighting rumors
And living the blues

I was so beaten
Had welts that were bleeding
The teachers were screaming
Get out of our school

Then, one day I fought back
Whenever attacked
Did twenty-two push-ups
And more jumping jacks

I took her to court
And the judge said "you're lying"
And all mother did
was just sit there, just crying

They said I could go
to the county's safe home
But, it wouldn't be easy
With their share of sleazies

My father remarried
Had no time for me
He had a new family
Much different from me

Finally, I couldn't
stand it no more
And murdered my mother
That red headed *****

I'm packing up boxes
I'm moving away
She's lying there rotting-
in hell.  In her grave

Well I met Patty
The go-go dancer
Just one look
I thought she was the answer
I thought she was the answer
Well, I thought she was the answer
When I met Patty, Pa-Pa-Pa-Patty
Pa-Pa-Pa-Patty the go-go dancer

Well, her big brown eyes
Were b-bigger than her thighs
She sent me up
One hundred miles high
I tell ya I don't know
If might feet were on the ground
But, I sure do know
What I had found
What I had found
What I thought I had found
When I found Patty
Pa-Pa-Pa-Patty

The go-go dancer

Well she danced all night
Sweatin' like a hound dog
I had my hand on my heart
And my head was in a fog

Just one look I thought she was the answer

You cut my heart out of a piece of paper.
Traced around it.  Saved it.

Colored it in to make it look like a rainbow.
Happiness can grow.

Cut it out again then folded it in half.
Now painted blue to match.

Put my name on it and handed it to me.
For everyone to see.

What do I do now that you're not around.
What do I do now.  I frown.

I'm on the east coast and you're in California.
Better weather there.

I take out some paper and try to draw

But I won't cut it out.  I'll hold it

Her drug/pill habit took all of it
So sad

My mommy was so sick

She did things that rhyme with slick
butter things

So beaten, unloved/enslaved, insane
My mommy was so crazy
So crazy So crazy

killed all of them
So sick

"There's no sense livin' alone."  she said

This is the story of Jennifer Rune
Thought she could carry a tune
Sang for a dollar, a dance, or a light
Down at the old Purple Moon

Handing her flowers and pushing his mite
Dapper man, Harry D. Sykes
He clowned around with her, dancing all night
Under the colorful lights

Saturday night they would line up the block
Waiting to dance, with delight
All the king's horses, with all of their gear
Wanting the queen of the night

Enter a girl at the old Purple Moon
Butter Jane Mary Moonlight
You'll never hear her name mentioned again
Look for it, don't look for it twice

One night a girl with a rose at the Moon
Promised ol' Harry a flight
Spinning in air while the room settled in
Floating with eyes upon eyes

Lifting her gently, they floated in air
Forever being in glide
Never not knowing they both were the one
For each other, for life

Jennifer Rune cut a tooth at The Moon
What comes around went around twice
She's growing old at the old Purple Moon
Harry and Mary are tied

You too, can come to the old Purple Moon
It's down on Prospect, near Vine
Open 'til two o'clock during the week
Three o'clock Saturday night

I have me some money
I'll throw you a bone

Please mister
I worked all my life
I had me a place
A place with my wife

Cookie Construction
Tore my home down
They razed it to nothing
Leveled to ground

This city's so crowded
There isn't the room
For someone disabled
Who has paid his dues

Who served for his country
The red, white and blue
We'll give him some money
And throw him his food

We'll move him two counties
It's better for him
Then to let him live where
His life did begin

We'll give him new neighbors
We'll give him new friends
We'll give him a stamp card
To eat with again

Hey, you with the uncle
How come no grin?
I'm too tuckered; tired
For this mess again

Go up or down for a different spot
Maybe tune in to a song or two
And then sports or news, or baby you choose
Or a Spanish station that rocks the nation
With the craziest sounds that cause vibrations

Could be variety or a southern country jamboree
AM or FM, to me it's all heaven
Just to be surfin' the stations I'm searchin'
Cruising for blues or a song that is new
Maybe I'll search for religion or something
Or talk to a sports nut who's a news ******

I can go classic or talk of the town
Listen to jazz or the new rap in town
All kinds of rock, RB, rhythm and blues
Maybe the standards, pop, just what is new
Anytime, anywhere, anyway too
That's what I like about radio, you

Radio surfer
surfer surfer
Radio surfer
surfer surfer
Radio surfer
surfer surfer
Radio surfer
surfer surfer
Radio surfer
surfer surfer
Radio surfer now!

She was smoking
At the Capitol
I saw her picture
In the telephone [booth]
Smoke was flying
In the air
You should have seen her
She was there
It was a rock show
And it was bold
Just like a rock show
At the Capitol
Smoking weasels
Rocking on
She had me teasing
She put it on

Rock show at the Capitol
That was where to go-go-go
Get your girl and spend your dough
There's a rock show at the Capitol

She was smoking
In the men's room
At the Capitol
She was btchn'
She blew my mind
Then she blew me away

And you wouldn't believe
They tore that building down
I can't even find that town, now!
But, believe it
There was magic in the air
I can't believe it
Seems like yesterday
You wouldn't believe it
The way they wailed away
Bouncing and shaking their bones
And they were dancing
Singing and clapping and dancing
And dancing away

She was steaming
I licked her ear
It was awesome
Screaming in the air
Everywhere
The gang was there
Kicking, Puffing
And banging there
She left smoking
At the Capitol

Evening is a poem
tangible intangible
infinite moments
