Two aging message senders
and receivers, circumspect
men of reflective thoughts
and words spoken, written.
Wayfarers from divergent
oceans converging.

Both Harpooners of the
unexamined life, seekers
of truths and wisdom.
Kindred spirits different
and yet the same,
A spiritual awakening,
a brotherly bond in the making.

Both touched and renewed
by a voyage taken
upon a common sea
of curious self discovery.
For Nat and his effort to cross a
continent to extend the hand
of friendship and discover "Oregun."

I see it in the sunset,

The brightness so warm and comforting,

Before it slowly fades to darkness,

Leaving me alone in the dust.

It smells like musk,

The innocence of it

Covered by dreams and fantasies.

Nostalgia.

I can taste its bittersweet flavor,

Tingling in my *****.

Our best memories

Bringing tears and sorrow.

I can feel it in my heart,

The way it tugs and turns,

Reaching out to the past

Its burning passion doused by my tears.

I can hear it in everything,

Yearning to break me.

Everywhere I turn its voice calls to me

Reminding me of what I lost.

No matter how much I yearn for it

How much I struggle,

We will never be able to stay young forever.
His last piece of work I touch everyday
and feel not the water but sadness
flowing from the faucet.

From the sound of the sink
I hear him say
didn't I do a good job?
not once broke down
but think of her
she's broken down
the faucet has withstood
she hasn't
there I did a bad job
letting water flow down
the broken valves of her heart.

Dear,

"Lucky"

are little stars
As they watch over as you walk at night;
Guide each step you make
and smile when you take a glimpse of the skies
Lucky are pouring tears
As they caress your cheeks and feel your warmth;
They're your sunshine, fire and storm—
The fragments you keep inside your beating heart
Lucky are silly jokes
As they make you blush and laugh out loud;
Making your eyes smile—
For a second at least, you're free from this world
Lucky are love songs
As they touch your lips whenever you sing;
They are the words you want
to say and to feel, to you they mean a thing

     To be the skies;
     To be inside your heart;
     To be a huge part of your world;
     To mean a thing;

Oh lucky are these lines
as they breathe out that, which I keep inside of me—
A letter, a scream, a poem;
How I wish for nothing great but just To be

truly yours,

dear
