she hesitates
which always makes her late
reads worn out books at night
with quizzical looks she finds

she writes poetry
all titled please help me
while humming foreign tunes
she rhymes black inked in blue

she's good at giving gifts
to those less fortunate
to which she receives the most
because that's all she knows

again she hesitates
with things she'd like to say
because she knows it's best
when things are left unsaid

she breathes sighs of relief
it's how she was taught to breathe
while raising her left hand
a right she feels she has

that hand she wears a broken watch
which says more than enough
inside its slient tic
is where her time is kept

when she speaks of relationships
it's a smorgasbord of hit and miss
held out like an apology
a secret that she keeps

she'd like to be a star
in a galaxy far from ours
and maybe then one day
she won't hesitate

Grace E
The two women in his life

One had long black hair

One had long red hair

One he kicked out of the car during an argument

The other was the one kicking him out

One he lived with

One he married

One he left behind

One left him behind

The first was named Jasmin, like the flower or the oil. A name found in gardens and hung over arches

The other named Grace, notes of eternity laced her name. The softness of a ballet dancer intertwined in a single syllable

He should’ve stayed with the flower. I believe she loved him more

Red
The mouth is like the color Red
On one occasion,
It means anger, danger and war
And another time,
It means courage, love and life
How you use it is yours to decide.

Warm breezes in the night air
Whisper away every nightmare
Stars above in heaven's depths
Blink freely in the dark
Glowing with every promising spark
And during rest in dreams we see
The unreal and our thoughts are set free
To drift and live in sleep
And experience everything so deep
Sometimes waking, wishing you were still there
All that you can do is remember, and keep it near
Unearthly as it seems
Our souls are connected in dreams

South-by-Southwest
There are no tsunamis
on the cobalt seas of Neptune

No major earthquakes
on the surface of its numbered fourteen
moons

The winds howl at more than twelve hundred miles per hour

And has days so short coming in at just sixteen
hours

Though three times larger than our Earth . It is just a rocky core drowned in a sea of liquid spinning fast

There is Hydrogen , Helium , and Methane gas
And like it's bigger brother Saturn it has six rings just revealed in the recent past

I have no desire to go bask now in its seas
I'll stay at home on my planet Earth thank you if you please

An island lets itself go.
In rising  water finds a friend;
The past comes to naught.
