The clock ticks away
as we forget about yesterday
What did we do? What did we learn?

Can you recall growing up?
Sometimes easy, sometimes tough
Just too young to care enough

Reach for the Clouds
Pray for luck
A handful of sand
forget the muck

Parents losing touch
Divorce is just so much
For a child to take
So don't make a mistake

This world is a harsh place
Criticized for the stand we take
I do apologize for rambling so
Clouds and Sand is all I know

My puzzle of life is missing a piece
I've done everything I've set out to do
So missing a part doesn't bother me
And I've stopped looking for it too

I suppose It will find me in time
Because I've stopped searching
It's a piece etched in my mind
Just in case it comes looking

I would like to finish the jigsaw
But I can only do one part at a time
I'll just wait for the final piece to fall
I will not stand in line trying to find

It will come as a surprise to me
If it ever comes into my hands
It know it's only just one piece
But It's an important part to land
I struggled through the statuesque, the picturesque, the beautiful, the grotesque and arrived untarnished from the lies their pictures told.

fight them every day and fight them any way you can.

I watched an orange sun
bob on a turquoise sea,
watched and all for free
no pretence there to be
anything other than what
it was.
ah

you ask what would i do different

if i could change the past

i cannot change it yet look to the future

to have more care and education for all

folk to understand have empathy

be kind

& let us keep it simple

maybe the creatures have good ideas

& go to bed when dark ; don’t destroy

the earth

Even in the darkest ,of space , your Light still shine.
Even in times, of your deepest pain your Light still shine.
Even in your, weakest state here your Light still shine.
Even in your , Brokeniness here your Light still shine.
Even in the your struggles here your Light still shine.
Even in the midst, of your anger , and loss your Light still shine.
For you are Gods Poets and Poetress speaking Gods Truth.
In the world where so many people need to see your Light.
To see that Jesus , Loves them as well and that he is the Word.

ZAK'S PRAYER

Little Zak
(just a little scrap of a chap)
with a deep Barry White voice

enquires(as he enquires
about everything) :

“Why is your hair white? ”

He listens patiently to the explanation
how after a head injury

“I went white overnight! ”

Being a good Christian child
he tells me

he will pray for me
for the “black to be back! ”

I’m very tempted
to dye it for the next day

just to prove his prayer
right.

When his fervent prayer
doesn’t turn the situation around

...he frets:

I tell him
God & me

are both happy
with it…like this.

“Really? ”
He asks.

“Really! ”
I affirm.

“Have it your own way then
but man...

it makes you look
old & grim!"

I grin
tell him that I am what I am

but that I can live with it:
"Ok..!" he sighs "...have it your own way!"
He was a lovely sincere child who pitied my whiteness of beard and hair. I basked in his pity...it was so loving and tender. And just where did this tiny skinny little child get that Barry White/ Shaft voice! One of my nicest moments in teaching.

I want to see
your face, your eyes
Through the steam of our coffees
Know
every line
of your smile in sunlight
Trace my words along...
every micro-expression...
Every hint of hesitation
The fault lines
of our desolations
of our hopes

Desire--
of our fears
And, in all our failings
The apology of years
