people seem to think that when someone's anorexic,
they'll know, because the person will never eat
i find this funny because
my best friend never ate a single day at lunch
and when they accused her of being anorexic
all i could think of -- as i was eating my lunch
-- was how dizzy i got
from just walking up the stairs.
We all want what we want
And feel it's what we deserve
Through life's ups and downs
Through actions and words

At the moment  we're born
We start wanting our wants
Before we've even learned
Of the does and the dont's

The want's don't always add up
To what it is we should do
As pressures continue to mount
We should align with the truth

That the should's care for each other
The should's reach goals and dreams
While want's bring down one another
As they over power the needs

So let's do what we should
Not letting want's have their way
Without want's clogging life's path
Ahead should be better days
You can't stop a speeding train
By standing on the tracks in the pouring rain

You can't grab a thunder bolt passing by
If your out in left field with hands in your Levi's

You can't talk a drunk out of his last drink
If he's got nowhere that he'd rather be

You can't stop a wild stampede
With only one hand raised and two left feet

You can't stop a bullet from a gun
No matter how fast you think you can run

You can't stop the sun from showing itself
By promising the day to somebody else

You can't stop the moon from shinning bright
By staying behind locked doors at night

And you can't stop the way I feel
When I'm next to you cause my love is real
Beyond the sorrow
Beyond the pain
Beyond the moment
it starts to rain
Beyond the sugar
dripping from the cane

Is where my love for you remains

Beyond the hope
Beyond the dream
Beyond the horizon
in the East
Beyond all this
and all of these

Is where my love for you will be

Beyond the tune
Beyond the beat
Beyond the smile
that it all brings
Beyond the promise
of the ring

Is where my love is for eternity
I need to forgive

I can never forget

I need to forgive

My mind has been set

I can never forget

That I've paid my debt

I can never forget

What behind I left

I need to forgive

So my heart it can heal

I need to forgive

So I can turn my life's wheel

I can never forget

The dark secrets and lies

I can never forget

Who made me cry

A father so drunk

That he lost out on love

A mother so involved with herself

I couldn't give her enough

I need to forgive

But I can never forget

I need to forgive

With such little time left

I can never forget

The pain that they caused

I can never forget

The childhood that was lost

I need to forgive

To release all the pain

I need to forgive

So it won't happen again

I can never forget

As I stand on the edge

I can never forget

What I can never forgive
For a friend...
Growing up I always had
Some very special friends
Where we shared in everything
Even our love for Heavy Death Metal Bands

But every time one of us
Pick up an instrument
Whether banging, blowing, or strumming
We never made a lick of sense

That is until we found the jewel
That we all could play
Which turned around our tender lives
And tenderized us all that day

Now we travel the country side
With our own road crew
In a Heavy Death Metal Band
Where we all play Kazoo's

The very first Kazoo's we purchased
Came from the Five & Dime
But were able to throw down for the better stuff
Once our careers all started to climb

Now when we step out into the lights
Taking center stage
It's worth the pain in our vibrating lips
To see adoration on a groupies face

And playing lead Kazoo
Isn't as easy as it looks
You've got to hold your lips just right
To come up with those major hooks

We used to open up for other Metal Bands
Like AC/DC and Metallica
Pretty soon though our style passed them by
Leaving those sissies in top 40 dust

Because next to us they played soft rock
And when your "Axe" is a killer Kazoo
The others stand around dumb founded
With no clue of what to do

Don't get me wrong this rock and roll road
Isn't always paved in gold
Day in and day out in a Kazoo Death Metal Band
Can take away your very soul...
His squidgy wet nose prods my cheek

Ending another night’s sleep on the sofa

Our eyes meet

His happy, optimistic

Mine red, realistic, sad nearly sober

I stroke his silky chocolate brown head

An expression of expectation

Raised tan eye brows

Head cocked to one side

Long ears flopping

Happy mouth agape

Pink tongue lolling, panting

His mood is infectious

He spins to catch his elusive tail

Then checks for signs of my approval

He asks for nothing but love

I cast off my petty worries

Because for now...

I'll live in the here and now

A lesson instructed to me everyday

By my faithful canine companion

Before we face the world together
WARNING!!
Parts 2 and 3 may get political and therefor be offensive to some.
But on the upside... they may rhyme!
I had better get some more research done.
