Tangent Lines
Gem Jul 2017
How sad it is
to be like tangent lines —
to meet once,
and never again
- to the strangers we meet

Eleanor
Gem Jun 2017
I find myself reminiscing
a fading memory of time
in which I can do nothing more
but recall its evident prime
Memories of my Eleanor

This lady, my Eleanor
is no more than a fair maiden
but see in her deepest core
a soulful art not drawn by pen
filling up my every sense

We were misfits and eccentric
Our astute minds knew well
that our love does not roughly dwell
similar to how great writers tell
but in love, indeed, we fell

Holding her hand was too thrilling
too rare, too foreign, too precious
A moment that was time-warping
An instant I wished not to flee
as it fills in a piece of me

My love for her was all-consuming
and her existence was enthralling
What others couldn't, she made me feel
What's said in books all seemed surreal
until she came and made it real

But now she's gone
and time has run
She's still the lady I adore
in endless cycle of forevermore
My radiant sun, my Eleanor

To thee
Gem Jun 2017
To thee, who uttered my name
In a room of blur and a crowd of who’s
With that alluring smile which I blame
For wrecking my walls until it’s no use

Time with thee is a forceful billow
crashing on me, drowning my sanity
And with every innocent hello
I’m grounded with the force of gravity

Behind that façade, I see something more
Stay as you are, ‘tis something I adore
A lot to unravel, but there is no rush
When things are chaotic, 'tis okay to hush

To thee, who’s born on this lovely day
Whose existence shines when skies are gray,
For little acts, I thank thee
Time and again, I thank thee

Sleepless Night
Gem Feb 2017
Tick tock, the clock strikes twelve
and I am not myself
I twist and I squirm and I roll on my bed
and think of things I should have said

Tick tock, it's late but I'm up
I think I need a dose or a cup
of you whom I adore,
of you whom I wake up for

Tick tock, it's a new day again
and I'll tell you this cause I can
I love you every minute of every day
so will you promise me you'll stay?
