Ambitionless Generation
Francesko Dec 2020
Corpulent, relaxed, you’re watching Netflix,
The softer we’ve become as generation.

Your function is unknown like your appendix,
Toil now is just imagination.

The days go by as you grow older,
But never faster than the lies.

You told yourself when you were bolder,
But lies catch up you realize.

That you could make it, become stronger,
Reach your dreams, that was the prize.

But you gave up, and now you ponder,
That dreams can die, in your surprise.

Powerless
Francesko Dec 2020
The world has demands and puts us pressure,
Our inability to cope is our demise.

They told us that life is an adventure,
We didn’t know we had to compromise.

The pen used to be my secret saviour,
My only illumination through the dark.

Now I dream and I try to endeavour,
My creativity is just an empty park.

Magnanimous my darkness gives me chances,
But I’ve long ago forgotten how to fight.

Certain is the change of circumstances,
But I’ve lost the ability to write.

Seeking Treasures
Francesko Dec 2020
The staggering complexity of life,
A moment shorter.

The confusing perplexity of time,
You can’t live longer.

The wasteful ambitions of the self,
You wish you got them.

The time has passed now it too late,
You got forgotten.

Obstinate beliefs, where did they get us?
We walk alone now, in world that only hates us.

There is resentment in our hearts we don’t discuss,
As if our feelings are benign and don’t concern us.

We fail, to see and realize,
We had everything we really ever wanted.

Until the moment, will finally arise,
And empty our souls now will feel haunted.

Regret, fills up our human eyes,
To our fate forever we are bounded.

We were foolish, we only chased the prize,
We wanted treasures that would never could be counted.

It’s too late now, we’ve reached our own demise,
And by treasures will forever be surrounded.
