Somebody said something about you today,

and I was momentarily mistaken

in thinking their words

were actually about me.

It made me think that perhaps you and I

are far more similar than we may appear to be.

Maybe, just maybe,

our lives reflect one another,

like sad, shiny mirror images,

pretending they are what they ought to be.

I soon remembered that I was never any good

at keeping a mirror, pocket or otherwise,

without accidentally smashing its surface,

the tiny silver shards eventually struggling free.

7 years bad luck multiplied

by god knows how many times

honestly seems to explain a lot,

and I can't help but wonder

if you had the same problem as me.

None of this matters really,

because even in a mirror in which you can still see

identical images are incapable of touching one another

despite how similar they may be.
Another ten minute job.

I love you
I love you more each day
I love you more
I love you even more than i say
I love you most
I love you most in every way

I love you
I love you too**, that's all you have to say.
Darlyne love, in times when you need me. ;)
(and also to Beau dearest)

The smells of our ***
linger behind my dead eyes
as your milky skin
curdles under my
poisonous breath.

*This is my love

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came, in the evening, cold and gray,
To a valley, vast, and deep, and wide,
Through which was flowing an angry tide.

The old man crossed it in the twilight dim;
The angry stream had no fears for him;
But he turned, when safe on the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.

"Old man," said an angel, near,
"You are wasting strength by building here;
Your journey will end with the night today;
You will never again pass this way;
You have crossed the stream, deep and wide-
Why build a bridge at this evening time?"

The builder lifted his old gray head;
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"Youth will follow after me today,
Whose feet must pass this way,
This stream, that has been fair to me,
To that youth, may not be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

im not drunk enough to forget what its like
to be close to you
to feel you grip my hand tighter

im not sober enough to remember what its like
to be alone in my bed
to feel an empty space next to me

i dont know if im drinking to forget
or if im drowning sadness absent mindedly
but what i do know is

liquid love is my only escape

We will end like rain
Going steady for a short time,
decreasing painfully slow
to a pace too unbearable to stand,
then to scarce scattered drops,
then to nothing.
Eventually there will be nothing left,
except wet grass that will dry when eventually the sun comes up.

I fall asleep to a steady drum,
the beat whooshing me away into sleep.
Quiet footsteps dance around me
The patter of their feet draws me in deeper.
I hardly hear a tap at my window
As a free soul stands outside
It waits for me to come join him
to dance with him in the rain...
