Alyssa Wright Dec 2014
As the trees start stripping themselves,
We start covering up.
You move further away,
Until the last leaf falls
And I am freezing.
This was written in autumn.

Every morning is like Christmas
When I get to wake up next to you.
Just under these mundane sheets is
The most precious gift I could ever ask for.
Alyssa Wright Apr 2015
Let us not speak ill of one another
It is nothing but a waste of a time
So little that we have here,
Why spend it looking for the wrong in others,
When we have yet to find the good in ourselves?

Eyes so mesmerizing
I became lost in them.
So lost, that
I still haven't found my way back.
I wander, trying to find clues
in your skies and your oceans
to lead me back home.
But I decide that it's safer here,
So I don't wander anymore.

Although we may be wrapped in skin of different color,
Or speak in different tongue,
Worry not, for beauty and unity (now such foreign terms),
Can still be found among us in this mad world.
It lies within the sound of our laughter and the way we embrace; love,
These do not change from person to person,
These are the real components of universal language.
