I whisper to my heart
Shush
When it is anxious.
It will then rush
to respond in a voice, hushed
No.
A lone mourning dove
High upon the roof
next door
Singing my sad song
The older man seemed confused.
I slowed, turned in my drive.
I was just returning from the airport.
He fell on the road too,
And got a nasty **** to his left knee.
Later, I learned he had onset of the dreaded D.
This morning, I flew a plane,
Then slipped right back into humanity
From the mirth of azure skies.
Tip of the cap to McGee's "High Flight." Wonderful poem.

I think my writing is becoming more like texting. :0
His hand
His spirit
the
fullness of God
when
His faith
touches us
be faithful
There's a poem in there if
I can strip away the debris
   and polish it like silver
and read it at a posh affair.
   I'll use a singsong baritone
to give it gravity. It matters.
