Where green grass
grows
Smokes our
Village
In the crumble of ash that you assured
Could never be lit
In the first place

Where memories run never age
Where we remain in sage
I'll never learn I'm looping ruins
Even when I cross where you strayed
Even as I
Run right through me

Run until you can't breathe
Run until your lungs squeeze
The last gasp ever to spare
Aspirate on time
Breathing in deep
Despair
A shackle by some other name,
A memory in mine,
A mind not my own would perceive them the same,
But this good memory is hard to find.

“Plainly, no love,” she told me,
Then I will wait till you can see,
I dream of you, waking and sleeping,
I skip food and company for your needing.

Drifting thoughts manifest in the form of inkm
They are the planks of my boat,
With no words holding me, I sink,
With no glue, nail or latch, I cannot float.

The sea, my metaphor for Beau,
Looking down, deep, far down, shows blue,
And in the darkness of depth, I can’t hold you,

My last words, I pray to undo.
                I’m sorry I hurt you.

Use the stars to so North at sea,
Use the moon, the sun, the broken compass.

                                                   Drift.

Found this in my notebook. Apparently I wrote it.
A cigarette filter dangles between the boney knuckles of my middle and index finger
Smoke rolls up my hand
My head falls to the back of the chair
I can smell the pollen drifting from the oak trees
They remember when dying for what you believed in was an easy decision

A cigarette filter hangs between my lips
Smoke rolls up my cheeks
Stinging my cornea
They have yet to see what it means to hold the hand of a brother you have never met
To watch his life become a folded flag

A cigarette filter lies in an ash tray
The smoke rolling into the atmosphere
The cherry red slowly fading
The filter has heard the worries of a soldier yet to serve his country

A pack of cigarettes lay on a bedside counter
Waiting to hear what more I have to say
i want your love
i want to feel
your heart
on my chest and
you breathing
on my neck i just need
you closer here still
your veins they
pulse with life i
wish we could share
bodies so i could
feel you
from the inside out
not just this entity
the facade of flesh
you put up unwillingly
i want to touch
your soul and make
love to your spirit
be one with your
thoughts
your fingers
trace my spine
your dna mixed
with mine we can
become one
on certain instances
only but it is not
enough i love you
too much for
human things
i am sorry but
i cannot get as close
to you as i would like
your bones got in
my way they were
too hard to break and
i am so weak
i just love you so much
that i need to leave you
i can't have you, i never will
Gentle lady, do not sing
Sad songs about the end of love;
Lay aside sadness and sing
How love that passes is enough.

Sing about the long deep sleep
Of lovers that are dead, and how
In the grave all love shall sleep:
Love is aweary now.

I was never a sinking ship, just the remains
of an ocean liner, settling on the sea’s lips.
At least, that’s what I think.
I am not a tragedy, no,
but so many of my pages are empty and, my god, I need
you to know that if I am a book,
I am half-complete (not half-unfinished––I'm learning, you see?),
but it’s the back half,
and a few scattered paragraphs before that.
Now and then I write in my own history,
just for others to read and believe
there’s something more to me
than a leather bound cover over cheap poetry.
That’s all I am, really.

I’m just trying to keep my head above the water.
I keep my secrets close, and my happiness bottled
––for the nights when I need something stronger
than spirits that burn on the way down,
something that can keep these ghosts
from crawling back out my mouth
to tumble from my lips at last.

Listen, I'm really not hard to figure out.

It’s broken glass,
it’s the smash of a car crash,
it’s the smell of smoke and ash,
it’s a statue of a girl learning to laugh,
and to know, and how to venture
into you. I count the number of times I've been sure,
on my knuckles instead of my fingertips,
because it wasn't the touch, it was the fist
that first said: I am better than this
(fires will die but they fight harder than all else).
Besides, my fingers are not for counting out.
I think they're for you,
to weave yours through,
and to feel on your skin
when I spell out I love you,
because my fingers do not flinch
as easily as my mouth does cringe
and strangle truths in anger.

If you feel I am pulling into myself,
remember I'm likely collapsing inwards,
and know this:
broken homes beget broken bones,
but more often they spit
broken boys and girls from their lips.
My body is new,
no longer mould and mildew,
but steel, mortar, and brick,
and stone
and stick.

I am almost always cold.
My wrists look too thin for the weight of my world.

I carry on, but I am not strong.
**** knows how long those days have been gone.

To the person who will somehow fall for me:
I am not a tragedy,
but a mess of a story.
I write dumb rhymes to feel like I'm growing.
I speak as a cynic, but at heart I'm all dreams.
Sometimes I take a minute to listen and, slowly,
I think I'm becoming someone worth being.

I seem bare as a clinic and empty as glossy magazines,
but it's all a set and some props, one day I'll end scene.
I'm not ready yet, but on One Day, I'll be.

I swear, I'm almost there.
My world is readying,
like winter prepared
to yield to spring.
We found it funny
that our shoes and shirts matched.

We heard people ask if we had planned it
and we told them we had not.

You also matched me shot for shot, until we lost the ability to count
and we decided it would be best to stop drinking.

In your bedroom I matched you kiss for kiss,
until our lips could not satisfy us anymore.

Breathe for breathe,
****** for ******,
moan for moan,
we matched and we matched and we matched
and nobody asked us if we had planned that.
If they did, we would have told them that we did not.

And now,
when people look at our lips
and necks
they will not need to know if we planned it,
because the matching of our hearts was planned
and perfected, and practiced.
Not by us,
yet we enjoy the rewards.
I told someone we're having problems

I don't know if that was the word for it
But lately I feel like your hiding things
Even from me
I know we're going through
A rough time
But I hate feeling so far
Like my own heart is floating away
And I know yours is breaking with each word
And I'm just making things worse
Because thats all I'm good at
And I'm sorry
I just want you back
Your smile has vacated
And you seem so numb
You distance me
And act like I don't care
But I do
I want it all to work out
Just as much as you
I want you in my life
I want you to stay forever
I wanna be your wife
Forever loving and faithful
But I feel so far from you
And I feel your loneliness even now
I feel your wish to be at home with me
Cuddled in a cacoon of love
But you know my goals require me to stop
Taking so many days off
And it's making me feel like
I'm trapped between a rock
It feels as though I'm in that room
Where the walls are closing in
And there are no ways out
Or simply too many to choose one
And I just want you back
And I know you have to worry
But since all the stress has arose
You kiss me less
Hug me with desparity
Begging to be saved
When I'm in the same situation
You show less emotion while showing
So many
You love me
But it feels colder
And I'm scared
And I miss you
And I don't know when things
Will get better
But I'll always be here
Waiting
I'm not the type of girl
To give up on what she loves
Baby I don't want us to cry anymore
I don't want to hurt
I don't want us to live our lives
In a loveless love
Please show me you love me
Just hug me with a smile
Or kiss me with a passion
That's not a solution
Kiss me like you want me
Because you love me
Hold my hand and squeeze
Smile at me
Smile because we have each other
Smile because we're soul mates
And we're engaged
Chase me
Tickle me
Ressurect our love
And please stop worrying for one second
And just be with me
You are my sun
And you are clouded
I'm here and try to help you shine again
Believe in my love
Trust me
Come back to me.
I just want to fix it. Maybe I'm just overly hormonal.
