Losing My Reason
Aditya Roy Aug 2019
When I sleep
My thoughts lie awake, and he hasn't said anything yet
Telling me to breathe, or stop dreaming

I'm losing my reason
The thoughts are alive like wilting flowers
The dullest seasons are the brightest when the time waits for tides

I never thought about it
He didn't know what it was up to
Before, until now
I light my own ways and close my own doors

We are like open books
Staid and impulsive at the same time
If the shadows of people were pages
Their leers are open books

I wish I could take a page from your defenseless heart
Then I'd have caught a falling star from infinity
Indemnified by eternity and I wouldn't think twice
I doubt that confidence is the means to an end
Or the self-determination is the way to begin this art
Start from the beginning, and try to sleep with a mosquito
And change your sleepless nights, into claps for exchanged for slaps
Stop dreaming, start living
Or we can least breathe, you know if butterflies flutter

We couldn't help looking up the skirts and skirmishes
Although, the thoughts were kept aside with integrity
The drinks were at the side of typewriters, like hanging women
Blowing some soul into blazing thoughts with some dignity
That would have burned themselves on free streets ransacked by religion

Lacunae Love
Aditya Roy Aug 2019
An amazing speech
After Carmen, in the opera
Hall, half of them left the theatre, unsure of the noise
Maybe, it wasn't really a great speech, but, better operatic humor
Like my cat likes my dog more than me
We could twist and shout, and we'd still be able to think twice if we weren't bleeding
A charming smile and you were complete life of the party
Loquacious, and lascivious, let's be lacunae love

Through my jagged
Rhymes mine and yours
My time be tattered
My words cloaked by daggers
Rusting and broken-unclipped
Slightly tragic
Shall have some lyric
Inasmuch much ragged pith
If your love is for us dogged creatures
It finds a prickly finish
Much like a yellow rose that hides
In a thorned spine
Tearing your fabric
To reveal your true nature
Based on an Middle English poem.

The Horizon Fades
Aditya Roy Jul 2020
The birds overhead nurture
Can you feel the unyielding nature
As we conspire under the covers
No light enters our intermingled love

Throwing light on the transparent waters
Going down south around the iridescent mouth
Here we slide, down we go!
Our first love, then you escape my touch

Lest the children cry
These restless eagles will circle death's decomposed hide
You can run, but, no one can save you from life's pleasure
Neither Aphrodite nor the god of poetry

If a phantom ushers in the wind
As the gust of torment tingles your body
The people will keep living
And we will still be friends

All in a pile of ash
We all seem like elemental poets
Except we are mortal
This is all you the time in an hourglass of sand

As the horizon fades
Like a highway on lonely valley
So do I
Behind the loveless sun

If you can imagine yourself
With the breathing palaces
And the tenebrous traces of dingy darkness
You have arrived in hell, rather than heav'n
Looks like heaven is make-believe
But, if you write about flowers, like the moors
They rise with the darkness of dusk, and the moonlight
Murky as the deep cenacles washed with erudition and seas
These reflections are getting better, but, as a typical person
I find that next one will lead me, to reach my favorite shores
This sort of choice doesn't come with longing, at the adventures
I admire the possibilities
And the probabilities
Mercy mercy me, what it is used to be
Dreary, but, like a dress that makes me happy
Heav'n or Hell, postmodernism is hell
We are just moving along with times, wondering what it will worship
All that matters is friendship and conviction in your dreams
Hold them close like helms, and set them free like sails
Zeus looks from stygian darkness, and purgatory

Rain Song
Aditya Roy Jul 2019
The undulation of the circus
Respiratory laughter and the accord is sewn
In his hair and half time is gone for the darker time
In this waning swan song
Now a life beyond his obsoleteness and her own, are we really perceiving their problems as a whole
As our own judgments cloud our derisive destination, leaving us on the road
We keep hating ourselves for the wrong reasons, are never truly free
The wars are never stalled and rebarbative delayed right after
The inclination we have towards our civilized sleep becomes rather rapid fleeting like an ephemeral glance
Retire and find what you admire, in this vastness of metaphorical life, and swim?
Where everyone loses meaning after, they are put out to work?
Are we relying on ourselves or letting ourselves go?
It's the thought that counts and the kind gestures will never stop
Just go and get anything you can set your mind to
Don't stop, till the fight is done
Don't fight, if you cannot stop all those thoughts
Simply wishful that they were words rather than feelings?
You probably feel like the rest of us, in this vast world of life and wilderness
Wildlife is something that resides in us, binding us in the starry stuff
Redacting everything believes in is the first step to a mind held without indescribable fear
Rain song wash away my tears
Like you wash away the levees that are holding back your freedom

There is a little feeling
Inside me  it says don't think
Twice and it's alright
That's why I talked last night
Leave with me as the leaves fall
On the river of forgotten sorrows under the bridge
And tell me what you see

Must I remind you
How much you're gonna miss me
I'd take you for a good girl again
How far along without me will you go

Allaying her worries
She says
Don't people watch silly soap operas eating tiramisu
And lust after those sensual languid queens just like me
What's up in your home, she asks
Under the shade it's the same with you and me
As long as the sun and you are over my head, under a tree
I've forgotten you and me

Now look at me, struggling day and night
To do everything this time
I'm just a lonesome lover
I need a woman who can see through eyes that look twice
I see just a childish apparition of love that is

If gentleness is a thing
Aditya Roy Dec 2024
If gentleness is a thing
That braves the rain
And the wind
It will find its way back again

And the next morning
It will be there, unwavering
Fresh as the morning dew
Sitting on a flower in bloom

That droops under the weight
Of that droplet
And completely forgets
Until a blistering wind carries it

Yet I've caused pain
That forced your hand
To exorcise the ghosts
Of your thinly-veiled past

As love crawls
Back to the fragile soul
They conquer the abandoned seas
Where the spirit once had flown

Roaming freely on those empty waters
The wind howls and there's no sign of life
In your reveries and spontaneous daydreams
Only there's the disturbed harbor of the mind

Where to the soul serenades?
Finding places cherished
In tranquil memories
Captured in time and space

It is a gift that it brings
Wielded by the noble
It is the strength of human nature
It is the sweat and toil of the human soul

Gentleness is a thing
That braves the hailstorms
Finding its way back again
Even when you are lost

Why Do We Fall?
Aditya Roy Nov 2020
There is a storm inside of men
An unrelenting fire that breaks chains
That wants to break free as well turn into blazing wildfire
A moon that wanes and descends into grottoes of outlandish man-made landscape
Until it is drained of iridescent color much like the conversation we once had in the colonnade
That wished to stray from affairs of blue Earth, never to meet the lonely blue-eyed spirits who once abandoned us
Soulless down on the shore of desolation among thousands of pebbles
And despair wears a face and walks among people or sits in streets, deformed just the same and stumbles
But it can't meet those promising eyes of the land, it has no self confidence or reputation to match the many illustrious folk in the city
There is a cloud that covers and the town burns at night
The sun burns too, at purple dusk amidst the oak trees which were golden at noon
That lonesome branch wishes to hide Apollo's gilded chest under its canopy keeping the warm to itself
For it knows there's much more to freedom than letting in the sunshine for a distant tulip
There's more than what meets eye of the people who have been born ignorant
Because the truth is unable to set them free no matter how much it tries to
Some people I have to thank for letting me stay here for so long. S. Olson, Indeed, Carlo C. Gomez, Traveler, Lure ***, From the Ashes, Melancholy of Innocence, Weeping Willow, Ghost of Jupiter, A Slow Heyoka, and the whole community.
