Hour of Darkness
TheWriterInMe Sep 2018
I look to the sky at night,
The clouds are the first to be seen,
Beyond that there is the endless sky,
It looks to me like someone,
Splattered neon paint across the sky,
using it as a canvas.
It makes a good background,
With its deep hues of blues and violets,
And the stars as the special attraction.
They twinkle in the night sky,
Making me want to reach out,
Get a handful!
I would love to shine like,
the brightest star among them all.
Not letting the darkest of the nights,
deter me.
Twinkling away merrily,
Like the diamond of the sky.

Stepping Stones
TheWriterInMe Aug 2018
I look at the lake flat as any mirror,
Watching the stillness of the water,
The light streaming through the sky
Casting my reflection on the surface,
I throw a stone into the water
Making the water ripple
Along with it my reflection appears to distort
Making me think that that's how the life is never "clear",
Pieces of rock always appear in our life distorting,
And obscuring us from getting a clear picture of our life
It is upto us how much we are going to let it hinder us.

Time Flies
TheWriterInMe Jul 2018
I'm no poet,
And this is no poem,
But it is my plea to the world.
Years have gone by
Giving way to months
Months have gone by
Giving way to days
Days have gone by
Giving way to hours
Hours have gone by
Giving way to seconds
I am in a predicament,
Thinking and thinking
If I have done justice to the time
The time bestowed upon me
By the creator
I wish pendulum of the clock
Stops just for a moment
So that I can reflect back to my past
But then again it matters
‘What we are as of now’
I think it’s time
I stop dwelling about the past
And start living in the present
Fully alive,
And fully aware.
