Em
one little cut,
just a tiny little sting
hardly enough to even break the skin

two little cuts,
one deeper than the first
still not enough to finally quench your thirst

three little cuts,
this one hurt some more
how long until three becomes four?
this reminds me of a Dr Seuss book. it's weird, i know
If I had a word to reach
it would be one you gently speak
a phrase, a verse in tone so kind
it tints the fiber of dawn’s light

your Words have traveled
in warmth sublime
on wings of amber
and quiet fire

without you
there would be no words
to speak, to sing
that if I had, but one to reach
it would be one you gift to me

Haydn Swan
Within the sanctuary of a warm bed,
listening to the wind and rain outside,
I thought I could hear her voice,
faint and distant, soothing amidst the turmoil,
whispering to my soul,
atonement for the pain inside,
once upon an evening like this,
shall I hearken to her call,
joining her on the other side of the dark,
velvet shrouds of night,
reaching out and making me whole again.
