Some may want to know
why I chose to dig this hole
I'll do my best to explain
I hope this won't sound to strange

breathe

I dug this hole for myself
to shelter me from finding someone else
I already have been hurt many times before
because life is a test of both what you can love and endure

so rather than actively seek things out
I walked away from cupid's twisted speaking mouth
I try not to be bitter but it hurts to see
so many people finding who makes their heart complete.

So thanks life for ******* me over
thank you former friend I should've never gone for ya
thank you much for stripping me of
pride, confidence, and most of all ability to love

So I guess for awhile alone I'll stay
I'll probably get calls from mom "Why don't I have a grandbaby!"
Well sorry mom I keep getting stabbed
in the heart like it's a practice dummy

and I think it's funny that I was so stupid
to what people can do you'd think I wouldn't ve living proof that love is a twisted crazy old fiend that plays havoc with itself and bends on our dreams
Look deeply into her eyes
Tell her how attractive they are
They are the windows to her soul
Capture moonbeams in a jar.
Collect the rainbows in a bag
Sprinkle life's happiness on top
and you have it all in one hand
and she wont want it to stop.
Gather rose petals, sweeter than sweet
Leave these in a trail facing the same way
They must be all the same shade of red
and be very careful what you say.
For only romantic words are allowed
Words that will capture your heart
Love has now been planted deeper than deep
and its true you will never be apart.
Read Mike's work and you will find
humour sincerity and a story well defined.
He oozes talent, is a master of his craft
With all twenty six letters, he's not daft.
His timing is brilliant, he'll put a smile on your face
His quick wit will have you rolling about the place.
You are Mike the world champion of poetry.
The Pig That Sizzled

The pig, dressed with a rosy reminder
Shoved deep inside its mouth
A rod unfortunately attached
Travelled very south.
Rotating on a spit
And its frying skin leaves an oily mess
Not long before it’s cooked
And served on a roll I guess.
“Slice of pork sir
And a spoonful of onions”
“Trotters excluded sir,
The pig had bunions”
Nice bit of meat
And it cooked nice and early.
All to do with the tail
It was straight not curly.
I fail to see the difference
That makes to the taste of the meat
And I’m not sure what his reference
Meant about the pig’s feet.
“Deep fried bat Sir,
Care to try some”
Now that is just plain cruel
I think very definitely not
I will stick to what I have here
Which had gone far from hot?
She looked at me and said,
"You should **** me
before you love me."
And so I did.

Her hands covered her *******
and she said,
"I want you to guess which breast
my father touched first."
And so I did.

The bones in her hands shifted
as she fixed her hair into a ponytail.
"You're going to promise me that
you're not going to try to fix me.
You're going to promise me, okay?"
And so I did.

Her lips would start bleeding
because when she lied
she chewed her lips.
She said, "I think today
will be the last day I live."
And I asked her for one more.

Dry blood sat on her inner lips
as she kissed me good morning.
Her voice softly cooed,
"I hope that isn't the last time
I kiss you."
And I asked her for one more.

She bled,
"All you write about are girls.
You never write about me.
All you write about are faces
without souls. What about my soul?
Are you going to
******* write about my soul?
Are you going to write another poem?"
And I asked her for one more.

Looking at me,
she ran her fingers
down her hips,
across scars,
and said,
"Too many men look at me
and see what they want to.
They look at me and see
broken picture frames
that they can repair
and put our faces into."

Our hands met
and our fingers grasped
at the pieces of ourselves
that were deeper than faces.
But it was only me
as she whispered,
"Stop,"
licked my cheek
to my ear,
finishing,
"Don't fall in love
with what you
think you see.
Just **** me."

And so I did.
And so I asked her for one more.
