And at the end of the world
when the red sun glows dim
turning shades of blue
The blood of a thousand swans
leak into a desolate pool
where I once loved you
and you once stabbed me
I named you solace
but you became my agony
I was falling harder still
leaving cracks in my bones
and holes in my flesh
from when you tore me open
with your stained glass teeth
A blue sun goes black
I call out for my love
as lush fields begin to rot
decaying into wastelands
the Earth once green, now grey
yet no pain is greater
than the wailing emptiness I face
laying in your purgatory
with a glance you condemn me
but shame strengthens my desire
“I’ll prove it to you”
A pool of blood and feathers
A scream and I dive
sinking to the bottom
where you left me to die
but with a grin I wait for you
sitting in a pile of gravestones

I’ve never liked the color blue
perhaps it’s the coldness of its touch
or the stillness of its presence
too great of a contrast to my fury
like a storm for the irrational
but with just a glance
a second’s worth of connection
the clock struck 12
and I heard the church bells ring
like shards of stained glass
as you pierced through my chest
and blue blood leaked out
soaking my flesh and my bones
in the purest form of love you can imagine
it’s a phrase that sticks and stings
the ringing in my ears as I scream
I stood on the highest peak
but the agony pushed me down
so I slept for days
I think I was waiting for you
but you wouldn’t come
so with every blue dusk that passes
a crack emerges on my clock
a pitiful reminder
of the grey in your hair
and my unfortunate youth

I ache for the furthest of fantasies
cruelly glittering in trickery
I wallow in a salty pool
as the sun burns my flesh to the bone
A brilliant canvas stands before me
and I paint it in the dullest white
Yet my brush is a deep blue
and my hands are red as wine
I stare at the translucent creature
observing itself in awe
-
I often long for green
hopes of seclusion from a neon reality
But my dreams are littered in the poison
my eyes shrivel at the harsh orange
polluting the field with her petals
The clouds turn a murky brown
excrement pours from above
Even my mirage mocks me
-
She laughs at me in turquoise
and sobs clog my throat
like roses and burnt rubber
it leaks from my pores
Candle wax coats her fingers
an unsettling caress and a ticking clock
the distance morphs into a bomb
I stab it with my yellow spear
and grey lead stains my teeth
Her scent of paper turns to lavender
my hands are empty as I climb
I gaze into the mirror’s remnants
and my reflection slowly decays
screaming with laughter as I wait for her
