girl

in the centre of the page.

Word connotations tranfusing into veins of ink.

Pretty synonyms { eyelashes, flowers, cherries, collarbones} lilting with virtue.
A marriage between dainty and fragility.
A wink of buttery pastries & flushed cheeks.

Why the hell did it take so long to put
strong
brilliant { sun & stars }

This was a true realisation for me. I was trying to draw a map of synonyms for the word 'girl'. Perhaps I was too sleepy, frustratingly,I thought of the most fragile things associated with the word.
We can be all things sweet, but we can also be strong.
Regardless of gender.
Yes, I mean, you.

Mysterious Aries

Paper Wound

The truth is I do not know how I will smite this paper
Which weapon to be use, this gun or this dagger
Every letter that I will let go, I’ll blend my own blood
Each paper that I’ll wound slowly will cleanse my hearts mud

A chronicle will unfold by one person who is close to his gray
I will feel the memories of my past as if it just happened yesterday
Expecting that you will learn the lesson that I will serve at your door
Gather up the gold, left the stone on the floor

Thank you if ever you will swim at my river
Though its color is red, I will create it along with a love that is forever
I will wound some paper by hook or by crook
My pencil knife and quill gun are now ready to create a book

Blue chalk poems

I was ten when
I got caught stealing
blue chalk from the pool hall.

My daddy wore me out
with a black leather belt.

He said *What'd I tell you
about writing sad poems
on the back of the stones
at the orphan's graveyard?

Honey

The last time we kissed
I broke out in hives
from the honey on her breath
and the sting of her lies.
I swear, I'd die a thousand deaths
if she were the queen of my hive.

Sacrelicious
December 24th: Slow down,
breathe, and relax.
Save your problems
for tomorrow
and calm your racing heart
Today.
December 25th: We pave the walkways
into the hearts of others
with ipods and gaming systems.
It's sad.
December 26th: The anxiety is over.
December 27th: Everything and everyone is beautiful.

Dad,
How come you gave me all your old Bob Marley and the Wailers records, you listened to when you were sixteen and fixing cars, humming "emancipate yourselves from mental slavery?" You grew pillars of brussel sprouts, you got a rain barrel, you used grease to run a 1971 Mercendes Benz, Benzo-Lorenzo, you kept the wood-burning house so cold Mom threatened to take us to the Holiday Inn and make you pay for it.  No matter how much I wanted to go to a hotel (play pretend in my head, little girl-glamor pretend) I would plead with Mom.  We are fine, we are fine. I'll put a sweater on.  See, I was a little sustainable champion. Stoke the fire, it smells so good. I appreciate warm so much. Inside I feel proud, like, my dad prepared me to live in a punk house. God, I wish I could be you watching me when I was a little girl. At Walbridge Park, those little pastel coiled spring animals.  Mulch or little pieces of rubber? I like those little squishy pieces of rubber. I want a boat, a fishing boat.  I taught little kids how to fish this summer.  I kept a straight face, but I was beaming on the inside. Careful, considerate, thank you notes, visiting old ladies, kindness, loss of God, reading the Bible, reading everything, Swedish, cooking chili and pozole.  Where did you learn to cook pozole?  I want to know how but I am afraid to ask.  I don't want a speech, I just want clear cut directions, with love.  Just clear cut directions, with love.
