Pearson Bolt
you keep your lighter
sandwiched in a niche amidst
the Spirit cigarettes
you carry, a spark
hidden in the breast-pocket
of the jacket you borrowed
from me several months ago
and neglected to give back.
like Prometheus, pilfering fire
from the gods, you stole
the warmth from the stars
and built a hearth
in my chest, a warmth
nurtured by the mirth
that tugs at the corners
of your mouth every time
you laugh at my expense.
i'll cherish your candle close
to my heart, even when life
inevitably tears us apart.
everything ends eventually,
but at least we lived
as if we'd never burn out.

Amira Hosny
I'm Togetherness Un-Togetherness,
Dignity incarcerated,
Nothingness Incarnation.
Upon glancing myself in your eyes
I have become all of a sudden
Queen of my existence, thanks my Adam.
don't tell me what to do
my life is mine
it doesn't belong to you

i don't care about what mistakes i'll make
just get off my back
this is something i can't take

stop telling me how to laugh
i don't give a crap
just leave me alone
is it too much to ask for that

i get that its hard but try to let go
if you don't then how will i ever know
its my life
As I sip my cappuchino in a bar
In the north

The heart of The North
I think about the past

Of how it has come to be
Like this, tamed, no longer

A place of conflict
Just animosity

So strange to me
Ireland but not as I know it

Strange flags fly
On the roadside

Of Batallions,
And identities

All strangers to me
Then I see a tricolour

To remind me
This is Ireland too

It's still home, but not
Like my southern repose

The other funny thing is
I kinda like it here
No moon would glow
Without the sun at show
No smile would spread
Without tears that sheds

No crops would grow
Without a hand that sows,
No songs to be sang
Without ideas that started in a bang

No wonders to be seen
Without a mind that is keen
No apple would drop
Without a tree that grew from bottom to top

No winter
Is without snow
As there would be no life
Without joy and sorrow
