What if you feel like dancing?
I mean when you’re in class
or standing in a pandemically
distanced line - you know
INAPPROPRIATE times?

And what if you feel like singing
but you’ve been told your singing
is like the screeching of an angry cat?

What if you’re being stared at
because you’re pencil tapping
or head bobbing to a happy tune
that’s only playing between your ears?

What if you’re smiling to yourself
despite having to read 300 pages
every night for homework?

Happiness can strike, like a thunderclap
or in my case - the morning alarm.
I mean, have you ever found yourself
quivering with uncontrollable happiness?
I hope you have - or will  =]

Zoe Mae
Either I'm a God awful writer
or this site has become completely absurd
My most popular "poem" as of late
Doesn't contain a single word

He loves her so much more than she loves him
It's terrifying
He's vulnerable now
Stripped to the bone
He's never felt this alone
She looks at him with apathy
His heart gets yanked around
He'd do anything to make her happy
But she's always looking down
Can't look him square in the eye
Can't set him free, even if she tried
He's so vulnerable now
Immersed in her hair, her scent, her eyes
She can never set him free
Even if she tries
Word challenge using the words Rattletrap
                     fleabag, tatterdemalion, jalopy, squalid,
dilapidated, down at the heel. Vintage words

It was kind of dilapidated
But it still ran fine
It wasn’t a total rattletrap
No matter what people said.

I would like to have a new car
But I’m down at the heels right now
having lost my job last month.
I live in an aged fleabag flat
In a squalid neighborhood
Until I get back on my feet.

Everyone calls me a tatterdemalion
But I pay my own way.
And when my old jalopy died
A piece of me died too.

I  loved that little ‘0-two Jetta;
I’d get in and it would  go
The best art of it all was this-
It always brought me home again.

I couldn’t face the breaker’s yard
And see her all torn down for parts.
I donated her to charity
To help pay for someone’s brand new heart.

I loved that '02 Jetta. It only had 85,000 mi on it.  but the computer basket
developed a glitch no one here could fix and the nearest VDub dealer is 100 mi away. I got talked into a Camry which I hate and won't  drive. Hubby is now my chauffeur.
