In my world there is a gem...
On which there are two
predominant facets.
It has never been just me,
or just you...
It is us...
Marooned on a little cast off islet.

If I could take just one sip
from the fount of transitory courage,
I'd take the leap
into waters deep.
So I could pave the route
for our safe passage.

To freedom and love...
Without restrictions or restraint.
If only we could...
We'd harness from the infinite palette above
and with it,
boundless magic
we would paint.

Let the poetry...
Write itself....
As the ripe new moon
strums the swaying
silhouettes of the night.

Let the poetry...
Write herself...
With the vast
expanse of obsidian sky.
Pocked subtly with the shy
murmurs of the stars...
Offering solace and peaceful respite.

Let the poetry...*
Write of you...
As the splendour...
Envelopes each unspoken letter.
Embedding words of warmth,
that seize my heart
in a state of enamour...
Before taking its majestic flight.

This atmosphere lacks a certain kind of beauty
It's all too low, it must rise to the sky
The night is much too dark for me
I will ignite the fire, I'll bring the light

The sky is too blue, I'll turn it charcoal
The streets, they're far too serene, I'll make them sizzle
The people, too quiet, they'll soon be scorching with pain
The alley is dark, I'll make it flashing white
The wind is too calm, the ashes shall  flutter in no time
My skin, too smooth, I'll  singe it till it's rough

I'll burn this city down until the residue means something to you.
I'll make it all disappear
They'll all finally hear
They'll celebrate today, every year
The day I saved us from here.

Death alone is full of grace
Death smiles through a blind man's face
Death can hide the greatest shame
Death can wipe away your pain
Death does nothing for the weak
Death can help you hide and seek

Sorry,

Allow me to apologize in advance.
For what you ask?

For ruining this great thing we're going to have.

I'll be the friend that falls in love.

I'll be the friend begging to be more than friends.

It'll be me that takes your affection too far.

So yes I say sorry,
and it's not for "no reason"
It's because I already know how this is going to go.

I'm sorry that I'm going to fall in love with you, you're just making it really easy to do.

In a certain state of mind
I'm thinking
it was due time
to
of my own mind
write words to define
all I have in mind

have a seat and see these majestic creatures
reduced to only a beastly feature
they follow the lead of the keepers
freedom will never be their teacher

though lifes beauty fades

with the cold gust of its wind

soon enough will come the day

where all will flower once again
Rebecca Askew (bex) took a picture and posted it on Facebook which inspired this poem... Not only is she a great poet but also a fantastic photographer! Thank you my friend!

Feathered head and weathered dreads,
no one comes out to play with me and my imaginary friends,
I promise were lots of fun,
we are we are,
I promise oh please,
come out and play with me,
were waiting to see,
we wait to see your fears,
and all your uncaught unsafe dreams,
fall right apart,
oh it'll be a blast, it'll be sweet,
this nightmare dream is totally neat!
don't be shy,
come eat a slice of america's mini apple pie,
but you're not allowed one bite,
until you come outside with me and my imaginary friends!
we can fake our deaths,
and rob our neighbors cars for cigarettes.
and if we see they don't have any left,
we will just borrow the money instead!
so why won't you come outside with me and my imaginary friends?
but first,
fly yourself on out the front door.
so we can destroy the world.
just you,
me
and my
imaginary friends.
idk tbh
