So many times
I wondered again
Never too far to fall
Even in doubt it stands
The end
Joel Johnson Dec 2017
In time, my dear,
and with the world's fleeting gaze,
memories of a longing
will embrace stillness--
the dreamland
within bodies intertwined.
Joel Johnson May 2017
Effortlessly, the gaze stares
haunting the silence that stood before
where would it be
that toward that time
it all settles fleeting
quietly toward the end
Joel Johnson Nov 2016
Several days
******* by darkness
stormed into a brighter
sorrowed evening blossoming
words unspoken
by candlelight
delighted by light hearted laughter
chilling tones of fire in ice
lurching forward
toward tomorrows
dreamt by hearts of old

Where to take the day
or where else it may lead
what more and why then again
as through to the bitterness
time will tell
tall tales of wonder
searching, it found the end
Joel Johnson Oct 2016
Some say in fire
others in ice
oh how desire
sets apart
from worlds fallen
dreams
covering mine

Some days, I wonder
wandering when
all there's to see
along amnesia fields
with choruses singing
happily beaming
moments filled
solemnly seeking
more like me

When there's but a day
a better way
all to say
make haste
put back, in taste
what's lacking
of its fire
such that in dire
straits
oft told tales
spoken then
said again
much the same
Joel Johnson Sep 2016
Your eyes, they sparkle
filled with a desire
making you mine
even in time
after a time
each time

Where to
when in a moment
left to dream
all that lingers
searches forward
deeper still

Say it lacks
what was meant
at each passing
held in time
waters fall
favoring mind
Joel Johnson Sep 2016
In death, fears raging
only then can it be
as majesty ascending
ringing true to ears
hearing life's call

What will it be, then
said in time
with time sparing
leaves fallen,
grasping delightful reveries
of what's past
lingering, brinked upon nothingness
sweet in its feel
calling new life
wrought with pain
