*The essence of festivities all around And the ray of hope lit in our eyes Few more days And it begins. Festival will come, once again New attires, new hopes shining in bright light. Mother Goddess arrives, to heal our mind. 9th and 10th day left With good wishes all around When Goddess Durga arrives Returns back our smiles And heart fills up with happiness. With the arrival of Goddess Durga Take back the past Take back our past love Take back everything Which no longer belongs to us And make us anew.* Written originally in Bengali- *Pujo pujo gondho Amader sobar chokhe aalo Kichu din aaro Tarpor pujo aarombho. The blooming of Festivities
This is about 25 days ago,I and my brother were at my uncle Deepak's home. We all were very excited because at our home somebody had to came. At that day my aunt Jyoti's brother came with his wife, but, those were not about whom I am talking. After several hours a call came to us of my uncle,he was saying"We are coming in 15 minutes." We all got more excited as we were, especially my brother Rahul was excited because there was a special gift for him. After 10-15 minutes we heard a car's horn.He was my uncle Deepak and my uncle Anil.Uncle Anil was the special person. He was my father's sister's husband, Mr.Anil Turan. He had arrived at our home to take back my father's sister aunt Sangeeta and a little and cute 11 months 15 days baby back to Australia. After 2 days on 29-08-14 they have to go to airport to take a flight of Australia from there.I,Rahul and my grandmother's nephew Preeti also want to go,but my father and uncle Deepak protested, but at last this was final that we three will also go.After two days the date came when we all had to left aunt Sangeeta and Rehab. We all had booked 1 car and one is of our own.On that day we had to move from here for Delhi airport at 3:00 pm.After 3-4 hours we enter in Delhi, but before going to airport we go to my uncle's home where I met to my uncle as well as my aunt and my cousins. After moving from there after half hour we reached to airport;there my look was as a foreigner so all were saying to me that we think Teenu will go Australia. There we left Rehan and his parents and came from there. That was my last meeting with Rehan .I left there Rehan but not our sweet and lovely moments which we spent together. Today also when I think about him tears automatically come from my eyes.

Adorable, black furry divine With soft coat, shining so fine Barely two and half months old Brought it home on wintry cold. His eyes beholding, sparkling, He in our arms cosily cuddling, His drowsy yawns enthralling His movements, cries marveling. Five months puppy soon Heaven sent, a real boon Friendly, graceful and playful Muscular and very powerful. Mood enhancer, happiness bringer Our canine aptly named Winner Furry pawed, with a furry exterior Beneath, an utterly amazing interior. Well bred, well trained, a looker Loyal, gentle, handsome Winner Symbol of trust and patience Furry friend known for jubilance. Winner's choice, my little boy Forever running, jumping, to enjoy Both definitely each other's toy And undoubtedly each other's joy. Nose driven, very nice napper Waggy tailed, insect inspector Nimble footed, munchy muncher Winner, entertainer and energizer, Hanging ears, so sensitive Eyes expressive, so active Our hunting, sporting companion Our sniffing, rescuing champion. His soulful eyes, full of affection. But soon came his health deception Suffering dreadful tumor, infection All endeavours for his protection. He spoke but with passion To who knew, how to listen Our canine, God of fun-frolic Suddenly silently melancholic. Our firmest friend very sweet Winner, a heartbeat at our feet. His arrival, profound happiness His passing away, sheer sadness. Winner's oblivion, few decades old His special memories, we still hold He orbits in an unknown universe In his memory, these lines of verse. @Preeti Pathak

MUNIYA One Summer day of May Gulmohar, bright and gay Red blossoms hugging her Embracing the tiny visitor Feathered, brown coloured Small sized, sparkling eyed Gregarious and melodious Muniya, the bird vivacious. She merrily flew in and out With twigs, figs in her snout Framing her cosy little nest By putting in the very best She laid eggs, pearly white Sentiments intensely bright Mystic Muniya motivated Elated, she daily incubated. That noon, warm oppressively All birds screamed aggresively Slender satan climbed devilishly Muniya fought back vigourously Birds pecked the foe ferociously Serpent slithered surreptitiously Gulping the eggs remorselessly All unborn perished noiselessly. Muniya wailed loudly, bitterly Her world shattered suddenly Pain, loss penetrating the soul Depressing, difficult to console Emotions enveloping the avian Her unborn drifted into oblivion Misty eyed, she fled mournfully Misty eyed, I prayed soulfully. One fine bright summer day of May To my surprise on my verandah lay Muniya, her eggs in salubrious nest Fervent feelings felt, of fest, of zest Venturing in and out gregariously Savouring sprouts, seeds ravenously Muniya nourishing new beginnings Making new innings, new winnings. @ Preeti Pathak

MUNIYA
You hide in the cascading crystal clear waters, But O Almighty Lord! I see you in their rapid flow and also in their abysmal depths.... You hide in the fresh, clean and invisible air and the balmy breezes, But O Benevolent Lord! I feel your gentle touch and also hear your soft whispers.... You hide in the majestic cosmos, But O Omnipresent Lord! I notice you in your limitless expanse or infinity.... You hide in the roaring, blazing and consuming fires, But O Powerful Lord! I see you residing in their resplendent and vibrant dancing flames... You hide in our beautiful earth, our land, our homeland, But O Omnipotent Lord! I feel you in the ashes and dust of our venerated ancestors and the daring warriors and the brave soldiers resting therein... You hide in the profoundly beautiful, colourful and ambrosial flowers, But O Awesome Lord! I find you in their myriad shapes and in their floral, oriental and woody fragrances.... You hide in the thick, dark, lofty, evergreen forests and foliage, But O Quintessential Lord! I sense your presence by inhaling your earthy scents and hearing your mysterious silence.... You hide in the snow, the mist and the dew, But O Worthy Lord! I find you visible in their ethereal beauty and chastity.... You hide in the fruits and grains and nuts, But O Bountiful Lord! I find you in my hunger and thirst.... You hide in all forms, animate or inanimate, But O Omniscience Lord! I discern you in the spirit and soul of all objects and creations.... You dwell in the enchanting celestial objects, the sun, the moon and the stars, But O Everlasting Lord! I detect you even in their endless motion, incandescence and forever changing appearance each day... You hide in the temples and all the holy places But O Comforter Lord! I meet you there in the sanctum sanctorum of my pious mind... You hide in the sacred scriptures, epics, chants and hymns, But O Saviour Lord! I figure you in piety, virtues, dharmas and the karmas.... You hide in my parents, children, friends, teachers, countrymen, But O Compassionate Lord! I revere you in their love, compassion, devotion and care.... You hide and huddle in my mortal body But O Marvelous Lord! I hear you in the melody of my heartbeats, rhythm of my pulsating blood, in the music of my successfully orchestrated life…. You hide inside my immortal soul, But O Extremely Gracious Lord! I seek you in my existence, prayers and faith.... You hide and I shall seek you anywhere and everywhere in total serenity.... But O Good Lord! I shall forever remember and worship you and we both shall play this game of hide-and-seek till eternity.... (Composed by Preeti Pathak from India... My link is... preetikandpalpathak.blogspot.com)

Celebrations! Baby girl arriving A piece of heaven descending Upon ecstatic parents who are waiting Cooing, smiling and her eyes shining How euphoric and rewarding ! In parental tenderness, blooming beautifully Inherent virtues, flourishing favourably Buoyantly vibrant teenager, metamorphosing magically Lithe, lively lady moulding, unfolding gracefully How breathlessly beautiful, this transition so suddenly ! Deft, determined lady emerging on life's canvas Out of the shadows of parental caress Catalysing to compellingly desirable mistress Celebrating wins, witty and voluptuous How stunningly sensuous ! Years go by sketching contours of the middle aged Living through love, sorrow, fear and hope Journey of ups and downs sculpting her Experienced, sobered, matured portrait realised How mysteriously ageless ! Time fleets introducing a frail grandmotherly figure Her reticent, sentimental and feeble ways Carving her into a contemplative, pious matriarch Toothless, silver-haired and wierdly wrinkled How stupendous a masterpiece ! © Preeti Pathak

HER PROFOUND SOJOURN
They married, very pleased Dreams many they weaved Happy hours simply rolled While love grew manifold. Onto mountainous vales Surely they both regaled Soon she on family way But hurdles many did lay. Rain came bucketing down Enveloping sky and town Bringing plenty of mirth Also cleansing the earth. Travelling from morn to night Unborn inside snuggled tight Serpentine roads, moonlit night River water, like silvery light. Sudden blind bend up the hill Mighty engine roaring shrill Blinding lights, opposite end Just no time for any amend. Mighty machine losing might Seemed the darkest of nights O! Wet earth simply cracked Machine slipped, was slapped. Chilling winds shrieking All of them hurt, weeping Scattered and shattered But hope still whispered. Eyes full of tears and fear Lonely night, no one near Angel inside, safe and calm Her unborn, her only balm. Thorny paths up the hill Her spouse down the hill Comrade, near a boulder Bruised broken shoulder. Trio braving grave adversity Their remarkable spontaneity With blood soaked garment Eyes pleaded management. Step by step, all together Facing inclement weather Reached the road head line Fetching care just on time. In portals of hospital Healed injuries fatal In midst of acute pain Blessings also did rain. She birthed a sweet soul Love shall forever hold O! Yes. Life's ambiguous Tumultuous yet mellifluous! @Preeti Kandpal Pathak
