Within a veil of light rain
a redheaded woodpecker
percussively rap drills
his evening dinner.

oh, boy...

it felt like a circus
coming to the middle of nowhere:
my heart spit fire,
walked a tightrope,
performed a back somersault,
laughed with the sad clown,
ate cotton candy and popcorn,
did the cancan dance
and thumped home
percussively joyful!

(final notice: circuses move. the show must go on)

i bleed in a lovely chorus
that haunts my resonant lungs
striking harmonies in my veins

my broken bones crackle percussively
throbbing through my muscles
creating a beat felt in the depths of my gut

every time i break
music erupts
from the pieces

and for you
i will become
the most beautiful song

It is a convergence
of classical cords
and caffeine
along with
the depth
of another
writer
who inspires
dormant desires.

I let the breath
of silently whispered
syllables
simmer in
the ocean
of my unconscious,

as ivory keys
percussively
pound little wooden hammers
against vibrating strings.

I am searching,
seeking
the speaking
of some cosmic being
that lives in me.

The utterance of
unnatural inspiration,
the soul of creation,
not a god force
but chemical particles
dancing in a storm
of confusion.

Dissonance
and novelty
gift me
each word
and verse's length,
but beyond this
I am still searching.

Still searching
in hopes the heart
of art will find me
successively
each day.
