Life

From birth, and its essence
To love and her gain
Death with its own pain
All these are the properties of Life

Earth and her soil
To Air and her wind
And the Water that we drink
The masterpiece of Fire.
All these and many others are the elements of life

Through time immemorial
From the ages of our forefathers
All these components have birthed Reproduction
For thousands of Generations
And now we call it Procreation

The beautiful essence of Nature
From which we got our first love
To the 9 planets and ours we call Earth
Starting with the air we breathe

Olorun Oba o! What a beautiful mastercraft
Magnanimous you are, for us is a place called Paradise.
One which promises eternal bliss

Eledumare! Might is your name of the most high
Subhanallah! Your works are compared to none
For you alone created Life and Death.
From a plain world, beginning to end

Man comes and writes his own chapter
You provide them Food and Shelter
Cloth and water
Health and art craft
Wealth and comfort.

And these you have done for generations
As man keeps proving stubborn
Yet, the concept of Life is beyond our Imagination.
This took a while,  but here you go. Please comment.

A Poem: "Amotekun Dee"

"Kere oh, Omode gbo. T'agba gbo"
"Oba ni kin wi fun yin oh!"
"Amotekun deeeeeeeee"
"Eyin omo Odua, ee gbo mi bi?"
"Irorun de, omi tun tun wo lu"
"Eyin temi aji lala osho. Eyin Omo okun Esin"
"Won ma sare kabakaba"
"Mo wi re, tabitha mi o wi re?"
"Amotekun deeeeeee"

We will block the gap and protect all and sundry
We'll patrol with Eagle eyes
It shall be "No nonsense here" in our region
With robust intelligence gathering and network
And we will proceed with extreme caution
Within the ambits of the law shall we operate
There shall be no sleep for the wicked

Peace, it has long eluded our lands
We have been invaded by uncircumcised Philistines
But not anymore, "O to geeee"
Who else knows our terrain better than our locals
You got a pass mark my Governors
And I am proud to be "Ofe mmanu""
"Ejo, ema je wo ni owo osu oh!"
Lest they begin to see friends as foes

"Amotekun de...Oju eje...."
"Iyalaya gbogbo won"
"Koni kaluku di omo Iya re mu.."
"A ko fosi rara nile Odua"
"Awi fun won ti ti, won jo gbo"
Odua a gbewa ooo.
"Oya, awon daaa? Gbefunwon kososhi"
Why carry guns when we can enchant them?
We have been pushed to the wall
Our hands on the plough, no going back

"This one no be se re se re"
"Omoluabi is a talk and do"
We stoop and let them trample on us"
Little do they know we are fooling the fools
Those who thinks they are fooling us
Watch it, we can be cunning and deceitful
But when it comes to our collective goal
The bond that binds us strong
And our walls, a mighty  fortress

In a nutshell, "Ki eku ile gbo o"
"Ko si so fun to ojo oh"
We are regional and not tribal
We will listen before we judge
We will treat all fairly as our ancestors did
We will not allow the "Cobra Effect" permeate Amotekun

This, we all know, is peace at last!
Passing Amotekun bill is a legislative masterstroke
For all who saw this to fruition
May "Eledumare" grant you all your "positive" heart desires
"Mo wi re, tabi mi o wi re bi"
Amotekun deeee"

DRUMMER BOY

With your sticks
You cook the beat of rationality
Your omele,a preacher
It's preaches sanity into an insane world
Obviously you are heavenly endowed

Tell sango,to come see
The sticks which heat Kindle his flames
The beats that lure him into dancing

Mysterious drummer
Even the deaf sway to your rhythm
The lane raise hands
To stop the quarrel between
Your sticks

You drummer of life
Play your beat
So I can tap the foot of my conscience
Hit your drums
For the dry bones to rise

sticks of rationality
Beats of sanity

Are what Eledumare
Has endowed you with
My village drummer boy.

Bewaji "Omo Jogunomi"
"Omo Odua, Omoluabi"
Your simplicity intrigues me
Your six "Shuku" braids
Adorned with petals of royalty
Fit for a royalty like you
Represents all Oodua enclaves

In a fortnight, I shall bring you gifts
From the evil forests no man dares
Therefrom, I shall bring you "Ori Kiniun"
In your name shall I conquer territories
And name them after "Eni bi Okan mi yan"
I am the "Ogboju Ode Inu Irumole"
The only man fit for a goddess like you

Bewaji oh!
I shall call forth fire upon your foes
Even without a degree in water engineering
I will I pave a way from the stream to your house
Build you a fortress as high as Jericho
Because you Bewaji are my treasure
"Eledumare''s" greatest mortal creation

Don't cry for me if I die in this cause
You can put it on love so deep, so true
I strongly desire and adore you my "Bewaji"
My World who wakes up with beauty
Give me a shot from your *******
And my life will not remain the same ever again
Now, tell me, who is your "Bewaji?"

Behind every human
Lies a story
A story of friendship
Love and regrets
Victories and near misses

This makes me wonder
Why some are rich
While others are poor
Why some are beautiful
Others not too beautiful

Life itself is not fair
Afterall HE hated some
And also loved some
Blessed some
And cursed others

Why did he harden his heart?
The King of th Egyptians
When He could have won
Without throwing a stone
Yes, He is that powerful!

Is the Porter a Partial Creator?
To some He gave AA
He sprinkled some with AS
While others were bestowed SS

He knew me from Creation
Yet he changed not my genotype
Why, i ask again why?

Ostracized and heartbroken
Like a victim of a deadly disease
In my heart i cry
Especially when my love left
For an Angel met yesterday
Just because i am SS

Severally, i considered ending it
Until i saw in the books
There is a he for every she
A she for every he
That it will end in praise
He made all beautiful
Just in His own time

But "Eledumare" cannot lie
He will do that which He Promised
If only you can find His words
The way i found John 10: 10
Invoked it and reminded Him
And suddenly it happened
SS turned to AA
Jehovah "Sabinus"

After sincere contrition
Relentless intercessions and meditation
I entreated his favour
Then He opened His hands
Poured me out blessings and healings
Including the one i lost
The bone of my bone

Don't give up on him
Regardless of your condition
By whatever name they call it
Which is not your portion
The Greatest Physician is here
Just let your eyes be single
He is never partial
He is too faithful to fail
For surely, it will end in praise

Mortal men in mortal prisms
Glory not in the demise of another
One day, you too shall pass
It is the only enemy of humans
Death.

If one dies, are we then immortal?
Only God knoweth the why?
Why not hope for a better ending
In place of musing over the transition of another
If death be good, can it be bequeathed?

Save for autopsy or the likes
When a muslim transits before asr
He can be prepared for final boarding
As long as it is not magrib
Otherwise, at dawn, that is sunnah
When we get to heaven
We'll know the true followers of "Eledumare"
To the deceased, "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un"

When a christian dies
Please, as admonihsed by the Messiah
"Leave the dead to bury their own dead.”
Whenever, however, their choice
A deceased may not be your hero
Does that confer you any title?
Say, a judge or jurry?

To be or not to be?
This is the exclusive reserve of the Uncreated Creator
May our leaders learn from this natural transition
That, called death...

We are all but sourjourners
From dust to dust shall we return
And when the time cometh
The book shall be opened
Whether to everlasting peace or contempt
You'll be judgrd by your works
Do right! Live right

But know it
When the righteous perisheth
It shall be into peace
For them who walk in righteousness
Their bed is laid in petals of gold
With the insignia: "Weldone good and faithful servant"

Oh Lord, heal our land
Let this be a reminder to us all
Life is a journey, walk it
Like had a terminus, live right
Only  remember, every soul shall taste death
When and where my friend
Only God knowest...

Finally, before you drop a line
If you wish to drop a line
Scroll through this with common sense
That which is not very common
For only the possessed
Glory in the death of another...

He changed the world
Yes, he changed the world
And transited a martyr
How HE takes the dumbest things
And brings out the best therefrom
So, unquestionable HE is
Surely, HE has the final say
For HIS ways are perfect and just

For years we fought oppressions
Institutional and organized repressions
Corruption was deep in our fabric
Our collective voice was weak
The voice suppressed by great   institutional firepower
But HE had a joker, Floyd "Eledumare", so humorous
The same way he chose a stammerer
To lead HIS people to peace

He chose a non-entity
Without any massive political clout
And turned him to a celebrity
His blood, for a change, that's how it worked
Just as Christ died for our sins
His death is a reminder of the blood oath
This is to racism and institutional brutality

Racism has no place in our world
Kick out racism with your everything
We survived over 400years of slavery and abuse
It's time to take a stand
If one man made an emphatic statement with his voice
We don't have to die to live

With her deeds, Mother Theresa changed the world
Mandela and Martin Luther;  with their words
Bob Nesta Marley and Fela Anikulapo used their music
He is touching the world with his writings and poems;
His name is Babatunde Raimi
But George Floyd, the boy from Houston, Texas
He died to change the narratives
He didn't have to die, but he couldn't breathe
What are you doing to change your world?

— The End —
