That grey sky
Oh my oh my
Could mean rain
Not rain again
There were  puddles this morning
When the day was dawning
Everything was wet wet wet
But that’s what you get
When the rough weather is here
It’s that time of year
When the leaves have fallen
And the trees are becoming bare
The wind is howling
The temperature has dropped
Oh my goodness it’s winter
Already I am quite shocked!

Powerful words
How powerful spoken words alone can be ?
Not to mention written words!
Given the intonation of the words that’s said!
And even How the words
Are phrased, portrayed and paraphrased!
And what their meaning is,
They can be immensely beautiful ,
But they can be very, very sad
And hurtful, even bad!

So think before you say something !
And try to say something nice
Each and every day!
To keep the woes at bay!
And make someone a happy day!!!!!

I’ve always been a patient soul
But with you
It took the toll
My empathy was swamped
The vortex became a hole
And I was falling through
But I have been resurrected
By the many who have helped
And I’m back to being that patient soul
And for you
I’m filling up that hole!

There are so many little things in life
That make life worth living
Writing poetry and lines
Is just about divine

It’s a place you can express
The words that are on your mind
And even write that fiction
Of any other kind

But writing about our lives
The good the bad
And those that help us strive
And the things that make you sad

Poetry Can sometimes make you cringe
And others will think you’re off your hinge
But I don’t mind it’s poetry of kind
And still it’s good to get it off your mind!

Snow snow
We’ve got snow
Thick and lovely
Flakes coming down
But it’s wet under foot
Will it stick
I just don’t know
Will it be white all over
Snow snow snow
All slushy
Sleet sleet sleet
Just wet and slushy
Where’s my snow
I just don’t know!

With every Rose 🌹
There is a thorn
Scent to your nose
In the early morn

And when you love someone so deep
And they don’t really know
They’re just asleep
You just have to go

It was only lust
He didn’t care
You lost your trust
And he didn’t share!

The love just wasn’t there!

Deep and creamy
Firm and dreamy
music for the soul and heart

warm and deep
sending you to a gentle sleep
dreaming of black velvet

a swan on a lake
Like a rich chocolate cake
relaxing bound and resting soundly.

Love is the epitome of all that is good
Life is the epitome of what we could
Living is the epitome of a lesson
Learning is an epitome of life!

Why does time go so very fast
When you’re having fun it just doesn’t last
When the sun is shining and the air is clear
Down comes the rain oh yes it’s here
When that cake you’re eating tastes so good
It gone within minutes as I know it should
When I think back twenty years
Of my youth it brings me tears
And I think forward in only ten years
I have my upmost fears
I’ll be in my seventies!

Where does time go
I really don’t know
Time goes so fast
Where are we going
Where will we be
How long  will it last
Where will we end up
What will we do
Leaving the past behind
Looking to the future
The future you’ll find
Will be here anyway
There’s no way to rewind!

All curled up in a ball fast asleep
Cute and cuddly dont you peep
I hear your deep breathing next to me
I think you're dreaming is what I see
As cute little whimpers, I can hear
your little legs start to move my little dear
still asleep my little one
chasing cats or rabbits , now they're gone
all in your dreams whilst you sleep
Cute and cuddly don't you peep!

Sunday morning
Up with a start
The cat jumped on me
Nearly stopped my heart
The dog barked with shock
Good heavens it’s only 7 o’clock
Not time to rise just yet
A bit more sleep to get!

That’s life
C’est la vie
And for me
Et pour moi
Life is life
Vie est vie
Life can be good
C’est bonne
Life can be great
C’est grande
j’aime vie!
I love life!
That’s me!

I thought I saw a shooting star
I made a wish
Then I saw more

I thought oh wow
A shooting star
Then I saw more

I kept wishing
Upon that o shooting star
Then I saw more

And someone told me
It was a meteorite shower
Anyway that’s ok
What a wonderful site
Then I saw more!

It’s a Sunday morning
There’s not a soul about
It’s quiet and peaceful
I don’t hear the kiddies shout
The silence is just wonderful
The stars are still out
The sky is black as night
There’s no sunrise yet
It’s Too early yet alright !
I hear an owl a hooting
He’s looking for a bite
I saw a star a shooting
It’s like the middle of the night
But it is early morning
And theres not a single light!
Everyone’s a-sleeping
Because it’s a Sunday morning,
And so we know it’s quite alright!

Massage my back
Rub my feet
Oh what the heck
Don't squeeze my neck
But use the ice
That's very nice
Relieve the stress
But not the dress
I'm about to go to sleep
So relaxed, I'm in a lovely little heap!

With every Rose
Cometh a thorn
Quite true I suppose
As it goes

Nothing but nothing
In life is perfect
And can we say it is worth it?
I guess, I guess,  I should say yes!

They say
Good Luck follows bad luck
Statistics say, To win the lottery
You’re more likely to be hit by lightening

The lesson here
Is the power of positivity
Cup Half full,
Optimism is not dull
Just pick yourself up and try again!

It’s warm and cosy
Soft and smooth
Colours are pretty
Like a golden yellow
Is the blanket around me

The feathers of a duck
Sometimes get stuck through my pillow
It’s soft and gentle where I rest my head
The comforts a delight, and feels so mellow!

I appreciate lifes beautiful treats and treasures!
Of comfort and warmth and all its measures
And thankful for all I have and hold
From the Very new to the very old!

Look to the future
And what do I see
I see retirement
Looking at me
Sad to relate
Times passing by
Wishing it gone
I say with a sigh!

Then what will I do!
I’ll come back to life
My gardening for true
Walking the dog without any strife
Cooking and cleaning
Writing and dreaming
And of course
More sleep!

Summertime

It’s coming summer and hot today now its June
By the way!
I sit I relax
People are mowing their lawn
I sneeze
The sun is shining
It’s nice and hot
I soak up the sun
a sheer delight
I tan
of that I’m a fan
I chill
That I can fore-fill
I sleep
For a little-while
I smile
It’s summertime!

Your love lifts me up
Ever since you were a pup
Unconditional love
A beautiful love
Your love is lifting me higher
In front of a beautiful fire
Where night turns to day
I only have to say
Give me a love
And you’re there!

You lift me up
With your half filled cup
You make me feel
like the real deal
You put your happy face on
You tell me jokes just for fun
Through your eyes the sun shines
As we eat tomatoes off the vines
As we watch the sun set
And the rain comes down and we get wet
But most of all we’re together
And that you know I don’t regret!

Exhausted
Zapped
Drained
Two steps forward
One step back
Walking through treacle
Time to chill
Time to sleep!

Hey the sun is out today!
I didn’t even have to pray!

It lifts me up,
It makes me feel good
Charges my batteries,
Makes me feel alive!

If the sun shone everyday
I’d be in heaven may I say!

The sky was black this morning
As we ventured out as the day was dawning
Thick frost underfoot but that was expected
We did not know what was a pending
Out of the black came ascending
Enormous rain drops falling from the sky
Like the heavens had been opened
And Mother Nature was having a cry
Soaked to the bone
we went home
Dried off with a towel
And back to bed under the quilt
I had Walked the dog so I have no guilt
We snuggled up nice and warm
A happy dog ( my baby) and a happy mom!
Safe and warm and now back home!

I woke up this morning
To another day dawning
I Looked at that sky
With a sad tainted eye
Is it going to rain ?
Or are we gonna die?
dark closing in as day goes by
It’s so incredibly grey
Another wet windy day
The wind is roaring
Like an angry voray
It’s now pouring!
What can I just say?

Not knowing
It’s the not knowing that is scary
Sometimes it’s best not knowing
Am I being lairy?
Is it better knowing ?
I guess choice can just vary
To what we need to know
What we want to know
And what we will never know!
Not knowing!

Just for you

Look at the beautiful green trees and leaves,
They make you smile so I believe ,
And when the sun begins to shine,
Open your eyes you’ll feel divine!
Laugh a little at the chirpy birds,
We wonder what chirps mean in words?
The flowers are all pretty and bright!
Until the nights comes and is no longer light!
Never feel alone!
There’s always the telephone!
Laugh a little!
Smile a little!
You are alive!
You will survive!

When I’m dead and gone
“I want to come back as a dog in your house”
Is what my man would say
Comfortable warm and cosy
Walked, fed and loved every single day
Cuddles, kisses and lots of games to play!

I walk the grounds of Newstead Abbey
From where Byron used to live
He fills me full of inspiration
That’s such a joy that we can give
It’s such a beautiful place
And walking is a joy, especially when my Moose I’m with
We walk around the great big pond
And through the gardens too
We visit the Japanese garden and all the other but a few
The house is just magnificent
A joy to see  and walk around
Where Byron’s footsteps
Would have been all around the ground
A wish to walk in his shoes
For his poetry I peruse
And the inspiration I will use
To write my poetry too!

It’s The circle of life

Every living thing is born
On this planet
And every living thing will die
On this planet
We know it’s the circle of life!

An apple pip grows into a tree,
Some giving us apples to eat,
Some sour some sweet
It may live for a while but eventually die,
The animals in the wild are born to live their lives but eventually die,
Our pets come as kittens and pups into our world,
But eventually die
Although we cry
It’s the circle of life

We all come into this world
Be it a bug or a slug or some kind of creature
It’s the circle of life!

It’s hard
When we’re apart
Our souls are as one
youre always in my heart
You keep me going
When life is slowing
But when you’re no there
I worry because I care
Leaving you alone
Only talking on the phone
One day I’ll retire
And we can be together

The rain has gone to sleet
It’s coming down a treat
Adding to the snow
Very soggy now you know

It was slippery out the other day
But now it’s slutch and the kids can’t play
No more snowmen to be built
It may just freeze so get under your quilt
