Poetry is the food of life!

Close your eyes
And go to sleep
Feel your spirit rise
Take yourself deep
into the skies
Take a leap
Where your body flies
Don’t you peep

Now you’re dreaming
Fast asleep and very calm
So it’s seeming
Floating the clouds with outstretched arms
A sheer delight You’re beaming
Hearing angels sing their psalms
Now the sun is streaming
Your body warms!

And down you come
To a gentle sleep
Out of Rem where
You were only dreaming!

Why do people steal?
They’re just not right!
They’re just not real!
They cause pain, how would they feel ?
When they just have to ask !

But hackers!
Computer attackers!
They’re just cruel!

Why do people ****?
Why do people fight?
Why do people commit crime?
It just is not right!

What a world we live in ?
Full of anger and sin!
Nothing is perfect!
And nor it ever will!

I only hope there’s a heaven
And hope that there’s a hell
Who knows
You can never tell!

What a Treat
Lockdown still and with all my will I just wanna sleep! With a broken leg and ankle I can’t do much anyway so hey what’s it today! Three thirty in the afternoon and I’ve been brought a treat! Spicy *** and coke hey it’s nice and sweet! It helps the painkillers work! I know I’ve been a Burke! And even at home I still have to work. Some would say that’s good! I’d give it all up if I could! I love writing poems, it truly is such fun! Because I can’t go out for a run! Don’t think I would anyway! Im a A couch potato I would say! The most I used to do is walk the dog it’s true! No she walked me! Well I’m off to sleep again. It sure will make me heal. And stop me going insane.

I feel I want to write Just now

It’s sunny now after a dull start,
Brightness fills my heart,
The sun uplifts my mood,
I’m sitting here looking at the garden,
Lush green, birds singing, it isn’t just a dream,
The forecast is thunder,
There’s thunder in my soul,
The buttercups are bright yellow,
The Christmas tree is dying,
This has left me sighing,
I need to plant it somewhere else instead,
The holly bushes have gone rife,
But that is of course no strife,
And the bamboo is quite awesome it’s spread and well fed it’s a treat to see,
We have a lot of green
In our garden in-between the
meadow type of grass,
And Within it own best class!

Friendship is a precious gift,
someone close that can uplift
your mood, when you feel alone
or down, someone to share the love and care
and be there when you need a friend!

Lure
Lure you’re a star I’d say
Even though you’re far away
You give me hope
Which helps me cope
And Encouragement to write my poetry
You are
A poetry buddy
And a lovely friend
With thanks and love

The rain has gone to sleet
It’s coming down a treat
Adding to the snow
Very soggy now you know

It was slippery out the other day
But now it’s slutch and the kids can’t play
No more snowmen to be built
It may just freeze so get under your quilt

And in the darkness all alone, I sit outside on the garden seat looking up at the stars,
Wondering what’s out there,
We know about the milkyway and mars,
And I can name but a few twinkly stars
Pluto, Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter of course mars
There’s satellites, of that we know
And the odd aircraft  flying low
But what about the UFO
Or things out there that we will never know ?

Dark clouds above my head,
I think I'll stay in bed,
I'll wait until it lifts
I'll revel in my rifts
down beneath the quilt
feeling so much guilt
why should I feel like this
someone, I need a kiss
and then those dark clouds lift
a kiss would be a gift
we all get down sometime in our lives
we're only human, men, women, children, husbands and wives
doesn't matter who we are
Depression hits us like a car!
Time to pick up the pieces now and
Get this sad, ugly thing in hand!

Wars
Politics

Is struggling
In nature
In nurture

Is dying
Slaughtered by warmongers
And mismanaged by politics

Stop fighting and killing start listening to each other, come to a compromise and respect one and all!

This world will be ending because it’s now bending and heading for a fall!
From Mother Nature with disasters to managing the ruling of the world and all!

Low
So what do you know!!!!!
I’m feeling so low!
I’m only human so there you go!
Just like anyone else friend or foe,
We all have feelings in tow,
Things happen in life,
Causing so much strife,
So come on with the pick up!
Chocolate and cheese, oh yup!
A glass of fine wine or a cup,
of coffee laced with spirit to sip!
So I’ve just gotta say
I’ve got to get real!
And just deal
With how I feel
Face my problems front on
Let the Gitts know they haven’t won!

My eyes are sore
I need to sleep
And dream a dream
Oh so deep
I close my eyes
It’s so quiet
As I drift
Into slumber
And sleep!

Turn around
Don’t walk away
Stay for another day
Don’t let go
You are loved You know
Fight the good fight
And stay
Turn around

It’s still out there
The sky is like a shroud of white
Some trees are bare
Like the weeping willow

By candle light
The evening draws in
Taking day to night
As the light starts to dim

The sound of silence
Hisses like a snake
Without violence
Night inevitably draws in

The evergreens now look black
The green has gone
The darkness is on its way
End of day has come!

Eyes sting
Tiredness comes over
Hissing in the ears
I’ve had for years
Time to sleep
Oh no time to rise
Waking up tired
As I sighed
Another day

Find yourself a quiet place
To sit down and chill
somewhere safe within
to relax as you will!

Take a deep breathe in
and breathe it out slowly
Relax, calm and peaceful be
have some inner peace for yourself just wholly!

The thing to do next is in what you will see
Close your eyes
and look inside your lids
It will be no surprise, when you close your eyes,

You might just be seeing black
or you may see some colours
Oh I take that one back
You may also see shapes!

Keep breathing in and out
keep very quiet
And do not shout
now what you should do,

is take yourself to a place in your mind
what you will chose I don't haven't a clue
somewhere safe
somewhere for you!

Go to the place of your inner peace
Where wonderful things will never cease
Be kind to yourself
And look after your health

Relax now and let it be.
I give you inner peace to you from me.

Life is so precious
We only have one try
At happiness and health
Before we are doomed to die
Five a day they say
Exercise and stretch up high
And do it everyday
Love each other
Any kinda way
Be kind to yourself
And think about
What’s best for your health
And To yourself be devout!

The holly bush has a few red berries left
Where the robins visit from their nest
And enjoy the suet ***** and the dried up worms I’ve left

The squirrel has gone no where to be seen and has taken the coconut half
To feed his family I guess!

Oh yes but it’s quiet, peaceful and still in our winter garden!

Life’s just a test
We don’t all get it right
But is it a quest?
And do we have to fight ?

I believe we are tested
We do our bestest
We chose our path
No don’t fight,  just compromise !

Money
It’s not that funny
It buys bread and honey
And when it’s sunny
It’s free
You soak it up
You see
Money though
As you probably know
Slips through our fingers
The debt still lingers!

We had so much fun
All those years ago
And as you know
I love you so

I know we’re not immortal
We all have to go sometime
But sadly we now know
Soon you will go

Off To the beautiful palace in the sky
Where the good go to rest
The big c has spread
Soon you’ll be gone

We’ve just got to face
And With my arms I embrace
All that you are and were so brave
You’ll never be forgotten

You’ll always be in my heart
We will all miss you
So now I shall kiss you
And bid you a farewell

You’ll take a piece of my heart
When you depart
Please wait for me
In time I will follow

And we’ll meet up there
On a twinkly star
High in the sky
When I eventually die

It’s two in the morning
Early hours of the night
I sit in the garden
Experiencing the fresh morning air
Looking at the black sky
With stars twinkling up above
When I saw what was like
a star moving across the sky
Not a shooting star
No of course
The European space station
Watching down upon us!

The words are a wonderful
When we positively pray
Say it Anytime
Night time or day
Say it in A poem, or  a line
We’ve just got to pray
Whatever we want or desire
You’ve just got to say
Prayers aren’t always answered
But maybe in another way
So don’t give up hope
There’s always another day!

Hug a tree
Yes that is me
Talk to the plants
Tell them your rants
Don’t **** the ants
No don’t want them in my pants
Skinny dip, Is still quite hip
Walk in the garden naked under the light of the moon
Love to try it and quite soon!

The birds and the bees and the butterflies in the trees
The willow hangs over the garden !
It so enormous that,
It’s magnificence I have to pardon!

The trees in the field
Are huge and old
So I am  told
And so I can see
From their enormity
Are beholden to their beauty !

Oh

Oh the ☀️ sun is out today
But tomorrow they actually say
It’s forecasted to☔️ rain

Oh if the rain comes down
Tomorrow
I won’t be wallowing in sorrow
The plants will get a drink

Oh but it’s never really that simple now
We really have to vow
It’s more likely to be a storm

Oh the temperatures will drop
The rain will need a mop
And we’ll need to wrap up warm

Oh so when will the sun be back?
If never I couldn’t hack
I’d give Mother Nature the sack!
Oh!

They got me up at five
I didn’t feel quite alive
The dog went out for a wee
The cat threw up on me
Then I made a cup of tea!
And now I’m very sleepy!
Back to bed for me!

As I walk down the road,
Quickly, quickly as fast as I can,
I should have ran!
Sweat pouring down my brow,
Getting so hot right now!
Breathing faster,
This I will master,
Steps increasing,
The calories releasing,
Getting there,
Breathing out hot air,
A heart rate increase,
But arrived and all in one piece!
I'm there!!!

Bones
Bones can break
Bones can mend
Bones don't bend!

Bones in our body
Keep us in place
without our bones
our bodies would flop
straight to the ground we're likely to drop!

A mother is so special
she gave us our life
mum is the ultimate
the ultimate of life!

You are my soul mate and I’m your wife
My one and only in my life
We give and take
Through toil and ache
You make me feel so very good
But sometimes your sadness
Makes me feel real bad
I try to be patient when I can
I keep telling you you’re a good man
But with your demons haunting you
I’ve tried but there’s nothing I can do
I only wish you’d open up to me
Before I lose you, can’t you see
But I’ll never give you up you’re in my heart !
Until the time Death do us part !

It might be raining

It might be raining but it’s a beautiful day
The plants get watered
So what can I say!

My husband makes fun when I say no one wins the lottery they’re all actors
And That’s what I believe
Until I see it  I just won’t believe it!

My kids say I’m a hoarder
My shoulders are broader
I’ll clear up one day

My friends say I try to help everyone and neglect myself and my health
Maybe I should listen to
Them

So I might tidy up
Have a rest
And hopefully win the lottery
But Is it all in jest ??????

She never did tell
That all things weren’t well
She always looked good
Even in a coat with a hood
But behind those closed doors
Were lots of floors
It wasn’t how it seemed
Although she just beamed
And after a time
Out came the crime
Battered and beat
She just couldn’t eat
She Looked so thin
So we took her in
Where she felt safe
and away from harm
Fed her trifle
Kept her warm
Now she’s to face the storm
Bless her
I know she will win!

Make me smile
And I’ll run that mile
Make me laugh
And I’ll dance that path!
Make me sick
You better move quick
Make me cry
I might just die
Make me sad
You might feel bad!



I swear if the sun and the moon weren’t there life would be bare

You’re in my thoughts and prayers
I love you so very much my friend
We’ve known each other for many years
I know it’s near the end

Remembering our memories I send
Don’t hold on to the fears
And although I can not mend
I’ll be there to wipe your tears!

Why
Why do you cry?
When life can be good
Work at it hard
I know you could
Fight the good fight
Get your head out of the mud
Get out there
Don’t stay where you’re stood
Try a little harder
You know that you should
Help yourself and achieve
Then life will be good!

There’s no need

fighting
Killing
Maiming
Slaying
Get praying!

There’s no need for
Hurting
Bullying
Threatening
Hating
Cheating
Hey Respect your life!

There’s no need to cause
Pain
Disdain
Sorrow
Sadness
Devastation
Just Live and love!

There’s no need
To make us bleed
Do a bad deed
I just plead
Pray
Love your life
Respect all others
Respect yourself!

Hey
When I’m old and grey
That isn’t that far away
They won’t be putting me in a home
I’ve decided I will roam!

So off on a cruise, back to back,
Take in the views, eat and snack,
Sit in the sun, have so much fun
Enjoy the shows, anything goes!
I’ll have the time of my life,
Before I die,
There will be no strife,
so don’t even cry!
I’m making the most!
Before I’m a ghost
And enjoy my life whilst I am alive!

Small mercies!
But the sun still shines,
and we still have sunrise,
better yet, we have sunset,
but its good to be alive!
