An ant based society
may lack variety
they work to the beat
of six tiny feet
but they all get to eat
ants don't hold elections
that lead to insurrection
an ant inspired riot
would be extremely quiet
We !could learn a lot

I don't know, what is my problem,
Probably I don't even have one,
Which would be then my problem.
It's a fragile thing I cry for.
Mommy and Daddy are long gone.
A million drunken mad clowns
storm this circus of my life.
I don't live in a straight line.
I live inside a pinball machine.
You may struggle, who hadn't
Resiliency, you must have
Rome wasn't built in one day
Frameworks must be laid

Hurdle over the pit of failures
Stride harder and run faster
Life’s a race you must conquer
Aspire to become a winner

Dreams are for achievers
Losers are defeated dreamers
Choices will define your future
Don’t bid on fate and then defer

Like a candle you can light up
You can soar like a kite
Beat the wind of doubt
Propel yourself to the top

Everything is in your hand
You have the power to change
Lean on yourself, believe you can
Free yourself from the chain.

Fast flowing messages
pinging back and forth.
Electronic endearments
cannot mean a lot.
Genuine questions and
invitations to meet.
Within myself
my soul calls for caution.
These men are ephemeral,
chase a photo.
My soul calls for real.
So, I joined a dating app.
Wearing a top hat and a straight
jacket with a monocle and goatee.
He owns everything like God does.
Nobody will ever tell him different.
He'll silence you and disappear you.
He'll buy your friends and family.
He'll define what's real and false.
He's the man who bought the world.
Our lives are in his cattle cars on
our way to his indifferent endings.
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

I stand naked in a strange light
in my bathroom in the mirror
looking 35 but I'm 79 so what
magic does a young lover cast?
She thinks I'm moon and sun.
At death's door I've just begun.
I just want to keep skin intact
so I'm not a circus freak show.
