Freedom
Comes in many disguises
For some it's hard to find
It often leaves before one realises
And sometimes it is left behind

Freedom
Has different meanings to some
To me it is very clear
To some it is the Freedom to explore and roam
To me Freedom of speech is dear

Freedom
Should be everyone's right
Though it often is denied
Everyone should be free to live without fear or fright
Freedom is a precious commodity which should be everyone's pride

Freedom
Can be brutally taken
Governments are often the cause
It leaves the mind devastated and clearly shaken
Governments should rethink their  clauses and rewrite the laws

To ensure that everyone has the Freedom they had at birth
The Freedom they were born with upon this earth

She had long, golden, silken hair.
Her skin was pale, oh so fair.
He lips divine, the colour of a deep red wine.
The men would fight for her hand, and for a piece of foreign land.
She was learned and wise in her ways Reading books in Latin, French and English to pass her days.
As well, she could read music, dance in time, play on the Harp a melodious rhyme.
She was a prize, sought far and wide which left the Maiden quite horrified!
She had a plan to pack a bag, run away, make her escape.
Late at night she made an attempt, climbing through the heating vent.
She was outside and past the gate, not knowing where lies her fate.
Left or right, which way to turn?
Would one way be freedom, the
other would she burn?
Decision made, the Maiden turned right and set off at a pace.
She walked all night until the sun came up and showed her she was in a good place.
A glade of beauty with water fall, flowers of every colour, tumbling river with salmon leaping, butterflies pollinating, ladybirds in all their glory.
The fair Maiden pulled out a pocket book and decided to write, short stories, about the beauty of her surrounds.
Her stories were of dragonflies hovering on the pond, frogs on logs in the middle of a bog, bees on flowers, she would write about which creature had the ultimate power.
Then she would draw what she saw and together she made a book all beautifully bound in leather.
Her stories became famous throughout the countryside soon a publisher came calling promising her fame and to sell the books in stores worldwide.
Being a thoroughly modern Maiden she politely declined.  Self published her book, the tools were all online.
And now her books are despatched far and wide bought on the worldwide web.
She has admirers who call at her door, requesting her hand in marriage.
The Thoroughly Modern Maiden politely declines for now she's happy with her choice living in the glade.
She's happy with the lot she has and doesn't need to be saved

There was a boy in a cave
Fearful that he wouldn't be saved
He would never know if he would be missed
Never know a tender kiss

He had followed two boys underground
"ssh" they said not a sound
Then they pushed him to the ground, tied his hands, tightly bound
Ran away and left him there, they were not nice they didn't care

The game they played was Hide and Seek, the boy in the cave was mild and meek

The boy was there for what seemed like days then suddenly, was he dreaming a sunny haze, or had he ended his young days alone in the cave, unable to be saved.

A ray of light beamed upon the floor
Shone bright upon an exit door
The boy began to hatch a plan but first he needed to break free his hands

He found a rock and set about setting himself free
The boy became ecstatic hoping to be home for tea
It took a while but the binds did break, he shuffled to the door
Grabbed the handle, opened wide and ran outside
What greeted him was a lovely surprise, he couldn't believe his eyes

He had not expected to be missed but clearly through the rising mist he could see his family with tears in their eyes, giving thanks to the heavenly skies

The horrible boys well they went on to grow up mean and bad
They lived a life of loneliness and were very sad

One day, the three did meet, the Cave boy now a man, walked right up and shook them by the hand
"Thank you" he said  "what you did turned my life around, i now have a family and a home built underground" .
Just came to me last night, couldn't wait to write it up this morning, hope you emjoy

Play for me a melody
Something in a far off tune
One that brings the sounds together
The way it's meant to do

A symphony to fill the need
Of those who have lost sight
As woodwinds fill the air we breath
Setting music into flight

Play for me a rhapsody
One that takes me to cloud nine
Swoon me into ecstasy
As euphoria waits in line

With a hand held over my warming heart
As it flutters to the beat
Play for me a melody
That is ever so soft and sweet

I read a stack of psychology books
When my mind went off the tracks
Now I’m but a therapist
With a knapsack on my back

I’ve gone my way a wandering
Through the depths of misery
I come from Babylonia
With a Bible Belt
Whipping me

Borne of milk and honey
The hungry heart is doomed
Ate my cake and ice cream
Everything I could consume

Now I’m old and thirsty
Setting at this ***** bar
Looking for a meaning
Of life as yet so far

Using time as an indication
I measure the distance
   Between you and I...
From light years away
Somewhere out there
In the darkness
On the edge
Of forgetful mind...

It's not so painless
To write about us
Our endless poem
Of tragedies
In broken worlds
No longer tethered
In a place where
Lost lovers flee

It's not so simple
To hold these words together
In the waning of my whispering voice
Yet until the pen shall meets the paper
My heart shall have no other choice
