The sylvan
Creatures
We're alive
With the
Exhilaration
Of an alien
In their
World.
The crisp
May morning
In the hills
Of West-central
Pennsylvania
Echoed with
The
Celebration
Of life.
As, I
Strode
Towards
The summit
Intersecting
The
Allegheny
River,
The brightest
Blue
Eye
Stared at
Me from
Above.
I
Exalted
In its appeal
And fell
In love
At first
Sight.
Just when
I felt
As
Omnipotent
As Zeus,
Nature
Revealed its
Illogical
Bliss.
My eyes cast
Upon a cotton
Carpet
Hundreds
Of yards
Beneath me
In the valley
Below.
I was walking
Above
A cloud,
As if I was,
At that moment,
God
Looking upon
My
Creation!
This was my pinicle experience with nature about 14 years ago, but I will always see it clearly. It was a religious experience!!!

The weather changes
More than a woman changes
Her beautiful mind.

The chiropractor
Manipulates my weak spine
Like you do to me
The longer
We spend apart
The more empty
I feel.

No matter how far
you can walk
no matter where you take your turn
nothing will show
upon this land
nothing will grow.

Burn all the waste
dig holes so deep
the ground breaks in upon itself
blow up the soil
so that the seep
comes up.

And in the end
you see-
you walk towards yourself:
a convex mirror hems
your field-
and as you try to flee
and as you try to shield your face-

it closes in upon you.
Urgh.....

Oh, the horror.
When the teardrops falling
On your shirt
Stain you the color of dying roses
And the pale eyelids
Flutter suddenly shut,
The cheek in your chest and
Weak arms
Begging impossible safety
From your helpless hands.

And the scream ripping out of you
Is as warm
And as hollow
As the body
Resting quiet and heavy
In your shaking arms.

I dreamt of you last night under a cloud covered moon
As if the full moon's glow was moving me like a monsoon
The eerie beams immolating through the clouds traveling on the gale
Laid me down and sent me to sleep with a lullaby so frail

I dreamt of you last night while my mind was fast asleep
Unaware that my heart was yearning for your memory to creep
It painted the scene of so many worlds to which I'd never been
But all for naught, for my eyes were on you in the setting it put you in

I dreamt of you last night and I wish I never had to wake
For I felt you were so very real in my imaginary embrace
And as my eyes were under, my subconscious said a prayer
That if the sun should disturb my slumber, wherever I was, you'd be there

And so I dream in morning light and think back every then and now
Knowing in a way we'd be together again somehow
And if that day is farther than the sun and moon make it seem
I will lay my head upon your sillhouette and catch you in my dreams

And so I proceed moving on
To napkin 3 a number
Sparred from my mindless
Ranting and instead allowed
To sing the beauty
Of your creation you hold
The guitar in your hands
No
Not the words that escape from your lips but
The way I feel your voice project
Underlying messages that
Move like a mountain range
Crashing into me?

i'm jonesing for a human being -
can you do that?
i am.
it hurts like a rose-smoke-burn in my throat
and a deep-throbbing ache in my chest -
      waiting for you
counting the days
until you're mine
to inhale
and exhale
and inhale
again.
