at first we played games
like 'see who can love the other more'
now it's **** on me, i'll **** on you
and if i don't have anything worthwhile i'll drink until i can muster up just about anything devilish

never thought much to bite my tongue
but i'm somewhat starting to wish i had it removed with my tonsils last year
right before i met you
maybe it would have made more sense if i hadn't the ability to talk myself up
and make it seem like i'm a person who cares about anything

you see i've learned lately that i'm no good, when it really comes down to it
i can go through the motions and get by, but when it comes down to the most crucial moments, like when one must hold their tongue... i spit

Open heart

Ashty
Cut me open, in to me you’ll see that I love you so
You’ll also see red blood speeding through my veins
Heart opened up just for you
It is cold in here
Heart beats faster than ever before
Too many feelings
Wounds ready to feel the pain hidden for so long
My love ask away
What is it that you are seeking from me?
I promise I’ll share my story with you
Your questions, my open heart welcomes them.
Don’t feel so bad when you hear about my invisible scars
I do ask for you to listen and have some empathy
Hold my hands kindly
After all you are knocking on the door of the unknowing heart
My eyes will cry a few tears
I am strong though
Lived once - lived twice
If you find out this is not the heart that you wanted to meet
I ask you to gently leave me behind
I have been hurt before so I ask of you to be honest

Chaos
That girl
With the sad, tired eyes
Sitting alone in the corner
She's over her life of emptiness
And she just wants to leave

That boy
With the gloomy, grey cloud
Following him wherever he goes
He's finished with his life of darkness
And he just wants to disappear

Those people
With the falling apart lives
Breaking slowly piece by piece
They are done with feeling like this
And they just want to get out of this dark, hopeless world

The alchemy of memory
Will not transform me
Turning gold into dirt
Does nothing to ease the hurt
I find little of value in this earth
All that is, is so transient
All my memories will go
The way of death
Partly fading into nothing
Partly falling into obscurity
So all that security
Means nothing you see

John Clare
Who hath not felt the influence that so calms
The weary mind in summers sultry hours
When wandering thickest woods beneath the arms
Of ancient oaks and brushing nameless flowers
That verge the little ride who hath not made
A minutes waste of time and sat him down
Upon a pleasant swell to gaze awhile
On crowding ferns bluebells and hazel leaves
And showers of lady smocks so called by toil
When boys sprote gathering sit on stulps and weave
Garlands while barkmen pill the fallen tree
—Then mid the green variety to start
Who hath (not) met that mood from turmoil free
And felt a placid joy refreshed at heart

Cinnamon wishes
and good morning kisses
the coffee is put on to brew

Sunlight is shining
a new day designing
the lawn glistens covered in dew

Songbirds are singing
their melodies bringing
sweet harmonies floating so true

My smile now beaming
a perfect day gleaming
*I can't wait to start it with you
Good morning beautiful

How will you know
When you pass through a forest
If your eyes are
Glued to the road
How will you see all the life
That abounds
If your eyes are
Always closed

How will you hear
All the sounds in the air
How will you witness
The beauty that’s there
If you can’t spare a minute
For the red breasted Linnet
Or the little green Finch
And her operatic pitch

Or just for a moment
Stop to admire
The dappled twig arbors
And the great blue sky
Heaven has spilled out
All of her flavors
And all of this beauty
Is just yours to savor
If you stop for a second
The Larks song is pliant
Her cantor an echo
That her fledglings can follow.

The Broken Poet
You can say you like a person
You could like a person's laugh or smile
But my dear darling
Never say "I love you"
When you do you have enclosed yourself in a glass case full of water
Slowly and painfully losing oxygen
Because one day you'll have to let go
Whether it's a death or a moving on
It doesn't matter if your fingernails are latched on
Because they will eventually break
Never love a person so much
It is unbearable to leave them
You will forever be scarred of the knowledge that you have lost
what you have loved so dearly
Never get too attached.
